Hold Up: Did Jay-Z and Beyoncé Make a Joint Album?

Jay-Z has finally spoken on the rumor that’s plagued us since 2015.

In an interview with The New York Times, the rap mogul confirmed that he and Yoncé did indeed collaborate on a joint album while working on their respective releases, 4:44 and Lemonade.

The two music icons planned to make their record available prior to releasing their deeply personal solo albums, but naturally, Bey’s music was further along, so they pivoted. (Beyoncé, FTW.)

Jay said collaborating on an album helped the couple work through their highly publicized issues. “We were using our art almost like a therapy session. And we started making music together,” he shared.

The “Smile” rapper didn’t express whether he and Bey would ultimately release their collab. If and when they do, we’ll be keeping our ears open for another Blue Ivy freestyle.
