Hoda Kotb Reveals Chip and Joanna Gaines Help Her Put Baby Hope to Bed

If there's one thing every new mom out there can relate to, it's the struggle to get your baby to sleep. Hoda Kotb just revealed her surprising and cute secret weapon for soothing her newly adopted baby Hope–and it involves your HGTV faves!

Calling into Today to discuss parenthood with her co-hosts, Kotb revealed that Chip and Joanna Gaines–and specifically their beloved show Fixer Upper–have become her go-to. "You know what puts Hope to bed? It is Chip and Joanna Gaines,” she said on the show. "Let me tell you, I put her in the bassinet right by the TV, even though I know you're not supposed to. She won’t sleep, she won’t sleep, I click on Chip and Joanna-she is out cold!"

Kotb announced in April that she and partner Joel Schiffman had expanded their family, welcoming their second adopted baby girl Hope Catherine. “I forgot everything!” Kotb told People. “I was like, ‘How do you hold the baby? How do you feed a baby? How do you swaddle?’ I was googling swaddling and-you’re not going to believe this-how to put on pajamas.” But she's also gushed about how the joyful experience has transformed her household. "I just can’t believe how in a blink, life changes, and all of a sudden there are two babies in this house. I’m just overwhelmed with joy."

Kotb's 2-year-old daughter Haley Joy, who she and Schiffman adopted in 2017, has apparently taken to her big sister role very quickly. "She literally walked up to [Hope] and looked at her and goes, ‘Hope,’” Kotb recalled when she announced Hope's adoption. “It was, like, one of those moments… She was literally marching around saying, ‘I’m a big sister.’” No word yet on whether Haley is also a Chip & Joanna fan!
