Hoda Kotb, 55, Wants to Have Another Baby
We might have another Today Show baby on the way! On Wednesday's segment of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Hoda Kotb told DeGeneres that she and fiancé Joel Schiffman are considering expanding their family.
DeGeneres asked Kotb, who is the mom of 3-year-old Haley Joy and 1-year-old Hope Catherine, if she wanted to welcome baby number three into their family. “I don’t know,” Kotb replied with a huge smile. “I’m not (100%) sure. I’m a sign person. I always look for signs, and I feel like there are some signs out there.”
Kotb said she noticed a few signs that she should welcome another baby. “I’ll tell you, I was scribbling in my journal, and I was asking myself that question,” Hoda said. “And I wrote in there, ‘I’m wondering if we should.’ I wrote, ‘Do we have enough love?’ I wrote, ‘Yes.’ And I said, ‘Do we have time?’ And I wrote, ‘Yes.’ And, ‘Would our family be more enhanced?’ I wrote, “Yes.’”
“I was thinking, maybe the answer is yes!” she told DeGeneres.

More signs have rolled in, according to the Today with Hoda & Jenna co-host. On Wednesday, Kotb chatted with the Today cast about she and Joel potentially raising another child.
Carson Daly asked Kotb if she was seriously considering it. "We're thinking about it. I have to tell you, I keep seeing stories of kids who don't have what they need. Every time I turn around, I'm like, 'Is this another sign?'" Kotb said, adding that the same stories compelled her to adopt her daughters Haley and Hope.
Daly then asked her on a scale of one to 10, how likely it is that they'll adopt again. "We're pretty up there!" Kotb replied.
One hesitation that the star mentioned was her and Schiffman's ages, at 55 and 61 respectively. “I was scared, because we’re older,” Kotb told DeGeneres. “But then I realized, they’ll have each other. When you’re parents later in life, like, watching Haley and Hope grow together, all I really want is for them to have someone to hold their hand forever. That’s it. That’s all I want.”

In a November segment of Today With Hoda & Jenna, Andy Cohen guest hosted with Kotb while Jenna Bush Hager was on maternity leave. Kotb opened up about motherhood and her relationship with Schiffman.
"I feel like everything good in my life started happening when I turned 49," Kotb told Cohen. "I met Joel, [had] the kids, everything happened since then."
It has been an incredible couple of years for Kotb. Schiffman proposed to the NBC anchor in November during their drip to Mexico, and the couple adopted Haley in 2017 and Hope in 2019.
"I can't believe how different I feel since that moment I thought we were in love, and love is love so what? But I did feel different the minute he proposed," Kotb said of Schiffman.
The soon-to-be newlyweds hope to get married in 2020. Kotb told DeGeneres that they plan to have their wedding in the fall. "I think it's going to be super simple we'll bring some friends be on a beach somewhere." We will be waiting patiently for our invite, Hoda!
