The 'Hitman Trilogy' Is Coming to Xbox Game Pass Next Week

In celebration of Hitman 3's first birthday, IO Interactive is finally bringing the entire World of Assassination trilogy to Xbox Game Pass.

Aside from being free-to-play for Game Pass subscribers on both Xbox and PC, the beloved series will also be making its way onto Microsoft's various platforms as a purchasable bundle as well as both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. With the exclusive agreement ending with Epic Games, the games will also now be available via Steam. If you're a fan of virtual reality, Hitman 3 will now move beyond PlayStation VR and be available for those running VR headsets off PCs.

On top of reaching more platforms, IO Interactive has of course created more content for the games in its Year Two roadmap. To begin with, Hitman 3 will be receiving Elusive Targets Arcade, a new game mode that builds upon the existing Elusive Targets by making players hunt down multiple targets simultaneously. Unlike its predecessor, Arcade contracts will be available permanently, although failing an attempt will kick off a 12-hour blackout for the mission.

Later in spring, a second game mode named Freelancer will also be arriving. As a single-player experience, Agent 47 will have to complete a series of contracts to take down a criminal organization, but his loadouts won't carry over from one to the next, so you'll need to return to your base — simply called a Safehouse — every mission to resupply.

For those interested, the Hitman Trilogy bundle will be available on Xbox Game Pass and various console platforms and Steam on January 20.

Elsewhere in gaming, Valve is now on track to release its Steam Deck next month.
