The first teaser for Richard Linklater's long-anticipated new film Hit Man has finally landed, and it does a great job of showing without telling.

After radio silence for months, we finally have a release date and first look at the film that follows a professor moonlighting as a hit man of sorts for his city police department, descends into dangerous, dubious territory when he finds himself attracted to a woman who enlists his services.

Linklater collaborated with leading man Glen Powell on the script based on a Texas Monthly article from Skip Hollandsworth.

Hit Man sees Glen Powell as Gary Johnson opposite Adria Arjona in this unbelievable true story about a hit man who meets his match in a client who steals his heart and ignites a powder keg of deception, delight, and mixed-up identities.

Netflix landed the rights at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival, and since then, fans have been waiting with bated breath for further news.

Now, as it plays for the Sundance crowds this week, it has been confirmed that Hit Man will hit Netflix on June 7, 2024.
