ALICIA GARZA: We're in a pivotal moment. And what happens now will determine the next 10 to 20 years of what's going to happen in this country. No movement is perfect. No movement is linear. And the possibilities that happen when you can see growth in public are important.

It reminds us that everything we have, we have to work hard for. And that building relationships and being a community with each other, it's not kumbaya. It's not easy. We've got to challenge each other in ways that can be uncomfortable. But what's possible on the other side is that we could actually win the things that we're fighting for.
