While you may not have seen Hilary Swank on the red carpet lately, (she took some time off from acting to care for her father, and launch an activewear line and animal rescue foundation, nbd) the two-time Academy Award winner is back in action. Most recently, she can be seen starring in Netflix’s space exploration drama Away, where she portrays a commander on NASA’s first mission to Mars. And yes, her skin is still glowing in zero gravity.

She’s been working in TV and film for about 30 years, but her skin looks exactly the same as when she was a breakout star in the early ‘90s. Hilary is both a makeup and skincare minimalist, keeping her routine super simple, especially before a morning workout. But she has a few go-to products and skin health rituals she always relies on—ahead, find out her skincare secrets.

She’s been going to the same facialist for years.

Hilary admitted to Glossier that she's been loyal to her New York City-based esthetician, Christine Chin, for 10 years. "If it works, why change it?" she said of her facial routine. She also is a fan of Chin's skincare products, including this Christine Chin Hydrating Facial Cleanser.

She only washes her face once a day.

Wasn't kidding about her being a skincare minimalist...in an interview with Repeller, Hilary said that she keeps her morning rituals super short, only applying sunscreen in the morning before she works out. She chooses to cleanse at night instead.

A sunscreen stick is her go-to product.

She told InStyle that her morning beauty routine always involves using a moisturizer, eye cream, and the convenient Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral SPF 45 sunscreen stick before heading out for a workout at the gym, tennis match, or hike with her dogs. "This powder makes it easy to reapply all day long," she said.

She never travels without eye cream.

Hilary revealed her in-flight beauty routine to Coveteur, and it's all about moisturizing. "It’s super important to always keep moisturized. I feel really dry and dehydrated—especially on long flights—so I always have either a Chanel or 3lab eye cream. I’m constantly dabbing that on, and then using some type of rosewater spray to keep my skin hydrated," she said.

She detoxes from makeup whenever possible.

Though it's pretty obvious from her many bare-faced Instagram posts, Hilary goes makeup-free when she can, she shared with InStyle. "As you can see I don’t really wear a lot of makeup. I have some mascara on and some lipstick and a little blush, but I’m not big makeup wearer in general," she said. "I think it's super important in this day and age, when women are so trivialized and objectified, to really show the real when we can."
