Just as the dust was finally settling on her extremely random and confusing feud with JoJo Siwa, Candace Cameron Bure has once again been called out by a fellow celebrity: none other than musician Matthew Koma, aka Hilary Duff’s husband. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Matthew dropped a duet of his reaction to Candace’s TikTok on July 4th, which involved her dressed up in a “God Bless America” shirt and a “God Is Good” hat, saying, “I mean, come on, do you expect anything less from me? Happy fourth of July!” while Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA” played in the background.

In response, Matthew mused, “Yeah that, the song you’re playing? Yeah. It’s about veterans coming home from Vietnam and being treated like shit. Yeah, it’s not about the Fourth of July.”

Probably a good time to just...drop the opening lyrics:

Born down in a dead man’s town
The first kick I took was when I hit the ground
You end up like a dog that’s been beat too much
Till you spend half your life just coverin’ up

Bruce Springsteen recently talked about the meaning of “Born in the USA” with Barack Obama, saying (via Page Six), “This is a song about the pain, glory, shame of identity and of place. So it’s a complex picture of the country. Our protagonist is someone who has been betrayed by his nation and yet still feels deeply connected to the country that he grew up in.”

Anyway! Candace hasn’t commented on Matthew’s TikTok yet, probably because she’s busy coming down from last week’s JoJo Siwa drama.
