Hilary Duff Welcomes a Baby Girl With Matthew Koma — Find Out Her Name!
Luca is a big brother! Hilary Duff welcomed a baby girl with boyfriend Matthew Koma on Thursday, October 25. She shared the news on Monday via Instagram, posting a photo of herself and Koma with their new addition, whom they named Banks Violet Bair.
“This little bit has fully stolen our hearts!” the proud mom of two wrote. “She joined our world at home on Thursday afternoon and is absolute magic.”
Koma shared the same photo on his own account. “We welcome a beautiful daughter, little sister, and best friend for life,” he captioned the sweet snap. “Could not possibly be more grateful for our growing family and for the

Little Banks Violet is the couple’s first child together; Duff also has a six-year-old son, Luca, from her previous marriage to Mike Comrie.
Speaking with Brit + Co back in August, the Younger star admitted that it took a while for Luca to warm up to the idea of having a little sister. “He was not thrilled in the beginning, but now he’s excited,” she told us at the time. “I think he was just like, ‘Wait, what? You’re mine.’ Six years is a long time to just have your mom and dad. He was comfortable in his life, and now he’s like, ‘Is this a joke?’ But I try to explain to him, even as heavy as it gets, that I’m not going to be here forever, and that family means a lot and it’s good to have siblings.”
She added that she had no doubt he’d be a doting big brother, despite his initial reservations. “He’s such a kind, gentle, sensitive guy,” she said. “I think he’s going to be really obsessed with her.”
Duff and Koma, who’ve been dating since early 2017, announced in June that they were expecting a daughter. “Guess what, guys!” she captioned an Instagram pic at the time. “@matthewkoma and I made a little princess of our own and we couldn’t be more excited!!!!!!”
She continued to document her pregnancy on social media as the months went by. In August, she shared a note to her daughter, writing, “Can’t help but imagine this little girl is growing and blooming in my belly like these roses that keep popping up at our house. Pregnancy is filled with so much emotion and some really tough long days but it sure is special. Feeling lots of love today with every movement and kick to the bladder. Appreciate that this one picked Matt and I to be her mommy and daddy. We gonna crush it for you, baby B. You also have the sweetest big brother waiting to meet and love you.”
