Hilary Duff Reveals Her Stunning Custom Jenny Packham Wedding Dress and Gorgeous Accessories

ICYMI, Hilary Duff had a surprise—well, at least to all of us—wedding on Saturday in Los Angeles.

The Lizzie McGuire star married her longtime boyfriend, songwriter Matthew Koma, at their home on December 21.“The wedding was at her house. It was small and low-key. Only family and close friends,” a source told People. “The reception was in a white tent in the backyard.” Now, we're getting our first look at the gorgeous wedding dress and more details from inside the intimate ceremony.

In a behind-the-scenes video for Vogue, Duff revealed that Jenny Packham (one of Kate Middleton's go-to designers) created her custom gown. “I want Hilary to feel, how I think she wanted to feel in this dress from the direction that we had which is very modern and it’s quite a bold look,” Packham said. “And more than anything I wanted her to feel immensely confident in it, and it’s a very confident look.”

Added Duff of Packham: “I sat down with my stylist, Jessica Paster, and we went through many designers and looked at their aesthetics, and together we settled on Jenny. Her work is so beautiful.”

The modern sheath dress had strong shoulders—which Packham described as saddle-like because of their shape—as well as 100 buttons down the back. “It’s not heavy, but it fits like a glove,” Duff told Vogue. “There’s a very modern shoulder. When we were coming up with the design, it was important to me that it was striking but simple. I couldn’t imagine wearing a big fluffy dress.”

“Matthew is very simple, and I really wanted to honor that,” the Younger star. “I really want to feel like myself, but also how I envisioned he would see me. The end result of what we came up with, with Jenny, is exactly how I wanted him to see me. I think it’s how he would envision what I would look like as a bride. It’s really special.”

Packham also wove the couple's initials into the lining of the dress as well as the initials of their children, Luca (Duff's son with ex Mike Comrie) and Banks (the couple's daughter). She also designed a sweet dress for little Banks.

The new bride also gave fans a peek at the inspiration for her hairstyle, including another one inch cut off the bottom to better show off the open back of her dress. She explained to Vogue that she wanted her hair off of her face, choosing a diamond and pearl headband by accessories designer Jennifer Behr to add a something extra to the look.

Duff also showed off her and Koma's new wedding rings on Instagram Stories.

As for the ceremony itself, it sounded gorgeous. “The ceremony started at sunset and they got married inside the house. When the ceremony was over, guests cheered.”

Congrats to the happy couple!
