Hilary Duff Is Over Getting Mom-Shamed for Kissing Her Son on the Lips

Hilary Duff doesn't care that you think it's weird that she kisses her son on the lips or carries him around or gives him piggy-back rides. The 30-year-old, who is about to have baby number two, recently sat down with InStyle to discuss motherhood, mommy-shaming, and staying positive in the age of the Internet troll.

Duff has a close relationship with her firstborn, Luca Cruz Comrie, and in the past, it's been scrutinized in Instagram comments and on other online forums. “I’ve seen stuff on the Internet a couple years back when we were at Disneyland and I posted a picture of Luca and I kissing on the lips,” the Younger actress recalled. “People were like, ‘That’s disgusting.’” Six-year-old Luca, who is the only son of Duff and her ex, retired professional ice hockey player Mike Comrie, was only three years old at the time. “First of all, he was three," the former Disney Channel star stated. "Kiss your kids, and anyone who doesn’t like it can hit unfollow. Not interested in what you have to say."

“People can be like, ‘Oh, you’re holding that child? He’s six.’ Yeah, I swing him over my head, when his legs are tired I hold him — it’s a little hard right now — but yeah, I give piggyback rides. People just have all these crazy judgments, and I think it’s best to not listen and laugh it off," Duff advised.

The soon-to-be mom of a baby girl has already proven that she's not one to sweat the small stuff. Duff, who is expecting a daughter with boyfriend Matthew Koma, took time to address her "hard as hell" pregnancy on Instagram and admitted that even though it's tough to go through all those physical changes, it's important to remind herself — and all pregnant women — that they are strong and beautiful.
