  • Hilary Duff is getting mom-shamed on Instagram for piercing her eight-month-old daughter Banks's ears.

  • Hilary responded to the comments in a now-removed Instagram Story.

  • Hilary also got mom-shamed previously for kissing her son Luca on the lips.

I think everyone can agree that Hilary Duff's eight-month-old daughter Banks is beyond cute. But recently, Hilary has come under some mom-shaming fire for piercing Banks's ears—and she wasn't shy about responding to the shamers.

Hilary posted a photo on Instagram on Sunday, showing her daughter Banks's ears with tiny studs in them. "Mama and 🍓," Hilary captioned the photo, also tagging Matthew Koma, Hilary's fiancé and Banks's father.

After that, the mom-shaming comments came rolling in. One commenter wrote: "I can't believe someone who seemed so screwed on pierced her babies ears, causing unnecessary pain that isn't for medical reasons done by a fully qualified medical professional is child abuse in my eyes." Another said that Hilary had just earned an "unfollow" after sharing the photo.

Of course, Hilary took to social media to supposedly respond to those comments. In an Instagram Story that has now been removed, Hilary shared a photo of Banks with her hair in a ponytail. "She has enough hair for a pony!" Hilary wrote," adding, "oh and yes we pierced her ears."

This isn't the first time Hilary has been publicly mom-shamed. Back in 2016, Hilary shared a photo of herself kissing her son Luca on the lips. At the time Luca, now seven, was just four years old. "Kissing your child on the lips is not necessary," one commenter wrote. "It may in time create a not healthy desire and it's too close to what adults do."

Hilary ended up responding to those comments as well: "For anyone commenting that a kiss on the lips with my four year old is 'inappropriate' go ahead and click a quick unfollow with your warped minds and judgment," she wrote on Instagram.
