How to Highlight Your Eyes
Question: Concealer aside, what do I need to brighten my eyes and look more awake in the morning?
Answer: Your lash curler, allover highlighter and concealer will do some of the work to hide exhaustion, but to really make red, droopy eyes look sparkling and wide, you need the three secret weapons of backstage makeup artists: beige eyeliner, white eyeliner and iridescent white powder. At Stella McCartney (above), where the call time for models is always around five a.m., Pat McGrath drew beige liner along the waterlines to tone down the appearance of broken blood vessels and take away any irritation, then she used white liner to make a V around the inner corners. "It lifts the eyes and makes you look really fresh." At Sonia Rykiel and Tory Burch, Diane Kendal had a small pot of magic dust that she sprinkled on the center of lids and in the corners to "youthen the face and open the eyes."
