With all the Emmy praise the show has received this year (with starring ladies Rachel Brosnahan and Alex Borstein bringing home a statuette in their respective categories), it's safe to say that The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel should definitely be at the top of everyone's watch list - that is, if it isn't already.

The period comedy follows the witty Midge Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan) as she navigates a stand-up career in 1950s New York City after finding out her husband Joel (Michael Zegen) has been cheating on her.

After waiting over a year since the first season was released in March 2017, fans were finally given a trailer this week for season 2. At the end of it, they noted that the next batch of episodes would be "coming soon" (though, unfortunately, the official release date still remains a mystery).

As you can see from watching the trailer, a lot of new surprises are in store for Midge, Susie, Joel, and the rest of the cast. But some of the most important details weren't so obvious:

Midge will not be stuck at the Gaslight cafe forever.

In the beginning of season one's finale, Midge finds herself in deep trouble. Susie reads off newspaper headlines following Midge's sketch that attacked comedic legend Sophie Lennon and it becomes clear that she's been blackballed in the industry. Midge even tries to perform at a strip club but is tossed out when they find out she's the comedian who mocked Sophie. Luckily, Midge is able to squeeze in at the Gaslight, which we see at the end of the finale.

Looking at the trailer clip for season 2 though, we now know that Midge and Susie won't be chained to those Gaslight gigs forever - in fact, the two will be heading to much nicer clubs. Further, Midge declares she's "headed to the Catskills," signaling that the gals may be taking their tour beyond the city limits in the upcoming season.

Are Joel's parents headed to the Catskills too?!

Multiple scenes in the trailer make it seem like Midge's parents - Abe (Tony Shalhoub) and Rose (Marin Hinkle) - will be checking out of their Upper West side life for a bit and joining her. But one shot above from the trailer makes it seem like Joel's parents – Moishe (Kevin Pollak) and Shirley (Caroline Aaron) – will also be along for the ride. In the clip, a man who looks a lot like Joel's father is driving a car filled with all sorts of stuff in the backseat. Of course, it could be totally unrelated. But it could mean that the two families will, once again, confront each other. Especially after the blowout dinner episode in season one between Midge and Joel's parents, things could get very interesting ...

Speaking of Joel, are they or aren't they getting back together? The trailer showcases a woman who looks just like Midge (though her face is cleverly concealed) dancing with Joel while he looks longingly at her. What could it mean?!

As you might recall, Midge told her father in the season finale that she intended on giving it another shot with him. But after Joel sees her air their dirty laundry out in her sketch at the Gaslight and tells Susie that she's "ruining" his life by supporting her, fans are left wondering about their future. This trailer, however, makes it seem like there's much more to come between them on the romance front.

She's still wearing her wedding ring.

Midge is wearing her wedding band in the trailer's diner scene and when she cracks a joke at :21. This seems to stand in stark contrast with the latter part of the last episode, where Midge covers up her wedding ring with long black gloves before taking the stage at the Gaslight.

Perhaps Midge putting on the gloves wasn't as symbolic of a gesture as her proudly declaring she's "Mrs. Maisel" at the end of season 1. But who knows, maybe that'll all change in season 2 ...

While waiting for season 2, catch up on season 1 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel now on Amazon Prime Video.
