Raise your hand if you’re like me and you’re very glad to see the 2022 Winter Olympics rapidly approaching to give us a much-needed distraction from *gestures wildly* all of this! One of the sports I’m counting down to watch? Figure skating, duh! I mean, the outfits! The hair and makeup!! The triple axels!!! The TALENT!!!! If oohing and aahing came to life and were a sport, it’d one thousand percent be Olympic figure skating.

But before the 2022 Winter Olympics kick off in Beijing on February 4—which, FYI, is next week!—it is required reading to know which women’s ice-skaters are representing Team USA. Gotta know who to root for, you know? A total of eight women are part of the team this year, with each of them competing in either singles, pairs, or ice dance (the latter two with a partner, of course).

Without further ado, meet all the ladies competing in what is probably the prettiest sport ever on the biggest stage ever.

Singles

Mariah Bell

At 25 years old, Mariah will compete in her very first Olympics. Her age is particularly noteworthy since it’s become common for a lot of athletes in women’s skating to go to the Games in their teens versus in their 20s.

Karen Chen

Following an 11th place finish in 2018 at PyeongChang, 22-year-old Karen took a break from being a student at Cornell University to focus even more on skating, and she’s ready to take the Beijing Games by storm.

Alysa Liu

At just 16 years old, Alysa is competing in her first-ever Olympic Games and is definitely one to watch as the youngest American athlete of the 2022 Olympics!

Pairs

Ashley Cain-Gribble

The 2022 Games will be the first Ashley competes in. She’s joined by her pairs dancing partner, Timothy LeDuc.

Alexa Knierim

Alexa won a bronze team medal at the 2018 PyeongChang Games alongside her husband. Now, the 30-year-old is partnered with Brandon Frazier in the pairs category for their first time together at the Olympics.

Ice Dance

Madison Chock

Madison heads into her third Olympics after competing with partner Evan Bates at both the 2014 and 2018 Games. (Fun fact: They’re an IRL couple too!)

Madison Hubbell

Madison and her partner, Zachary Donohue, made their Olympic debut in 2018 at PyeongChang.

Kaitlin Hawayek

Twenty-five-year-old Kaitlin has been partners with Jean-Luc Baker for roughly 10 years, but this will be their first time competing at the Olympics.

These are all the Team USA gals competing in figure skating this year! For deets on when to tune in to ice-skating at the Olympics, look no further than this schedule of events right here.
