HGTV Stars Ben and Erin Napier Tease an Eventful Season 7 of 'Home Town'

Home Town hosts Erin and Ben Napier are kicking off the new year with an action-packed season 7 premiering on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Over the past seven years, we've laughed, we've cried, and we've come to adore the Napier family of four, their hometown of Laurel, Mississippi, and their impressive eye for home renovation, and we can't wait to see what they'll do next in the upcoming season!
Season 7 kicks starts off with a bang as Ben finally addresses his shoulder injury, caused by a bone spur, and undergoes surgery. "It was scary, but also I had been in so much pain that I was losing sleep and really struggling: not doing a good job, not carrying my weight as a father, you know, playing with the girls like I needed to and all that," Ben told Country Living of his decision to undergo surgery. "You carried your weight fine. It was different than it had been," Erin jumped in to defend Ben. "It's something that had bothered me for years, but then it was getting worse and then no improving at all. It was weird," Ben continued. Luckily, Ben made a quick recovery and can now raise the roof and craft custom wood finishes all day long. Thankfully so, as Ben's custom wood pieces were some of the homeowners' favorite part of their new home.
A Season of Nostalgia and Old Memories
Though the Napiers welcomed some new faces to Laurel this season (including some adorable newlyweds), they also got the chance to work with some familiar ones. In one episode, Ben and Erin work with a couple who happen to be Erin's former teachers. "They were both my teachers when I was little, the husband and wife, and to see that, I just see them so differently now. They're such vulnerable, normal adults to me now, and at the time they were the teachers," Erin said. For these special guests, Erin and Ben made sure to incorporate some equally special elements in their renovation–designing the entire home around tile made by the wife's father. "He had made tile and we based an entire home design around using the tiles that her father made and they almost forgot to tell us about it like they didn't think that it was on trend. I don't want people to worry so much about trends. That's a huge problem in home design," Erin explained.
The Napiers incorporated nostalgic elements into this home, but they also got to experience some nostalgia of their own this season. In Season 7, they work on a house on the campus of Jones College, their alma mater where they met 19 years ago. "We got to go back to do those things that we did when we were 19 and 21, having lunch together on campus, and we just got to be young again," Erin gushed.
Season 7 is not one to be missed, but the best news of all is there will be even more episodes in 2024! Home Town has already been renewed for 20 more episodes to be released in 2024, in addition to Season 7. We can't wait to see what's in store for fans next!
