Who Is Jeremiah Brent?

For starters, Brent is no stranger to the TV world. The interior designer—along with his husband and fellow interior designer Nate Berkus—starred in Nate & Jeremiah by Design on TLC from 2017 to 2019. The couple went on to co-star in two other design-forward reality shows on HGTV called Nate & Jeremiah: Save My House and The Nate & Jeremiah Home Project. Brent has also appeared on Home Made Simple for the Oprah Winfrey Network, The Rachel Zoe Report, and Netflix's Say I Do.

Prior to entering the reality TV space, Brent founded his design firm, Jeremiah Brent Design, in 2011. Based in Los Angeles and New York, the firm specializes in creating intentional spaces that reflect the homeowner's past, present, and future. Brent has worked on a range of residential projects, including his own homes, along with commercial ones, like a Los Angeles restaurant and film and TV producer Ryan Murphy's Hollywood office. Brent has teamed up with Berkus to launch partnerships, such as their exclusive line with Living Spaces. Brent is also the founder of lifestyle brand Atrio and recently released a book titled The Space That Keeps You: When Home Becomes a Love Story.

Brent and Berkus have lived on both the West and East Coasts during their more than a decade-long relationship, and they currently reside in Manhattan's Greenwich Village with their two kids Poppy and Oskar. They also maintain a dreamy Hamptons home (see photos here!). Eager to know more about Brent's life? Why Did Bobby Berk Leave Queer Eye?

In case you missed it, Bobby Berk explained why he really left Queer Eye in a January 2024 interview with Vanity Fair. Essentially, the original cast signed on to do the show for seven seasons. Once those were complete, Berk had emotionally moved on. But then Netflix decided to renew the show, giving the cast a new contract that "asked them to commit to an option of four cycles." Berk decided to not sign, and he thought other members were considering doing the same. “We’d just assumed that the show wouldn’t come back if we all didn’t come back,” he told the outlet. “I was like, I’m not going to be having FOMO ’cause the show is not going to happen. I had become at peace with it.”

His four costars ended up moving forward with the contract. “And with only one of us not coming back, Netflix felt [it] could recast one person,” Berk added.

When Berk thought the show wasn't coming back, he had made other life plans that he wasn't willing to change. So while fans speculated that he left because of a rift with Tan France, that doesn't seem to be the case. Although, he did admit to clashing with his co-star. “Tan and I had a moment,” Berk told Vanity Fair. “There was a situation, and that’s between Tan and I, and it has nothing to do with the show."

Berk also discussed how the show was emotionally hard to make. He told the outlet: “Queer Eye has opened up a lot of wounds—not just for me, but for my castmates too. We’ve had to open up wounds that we thought we had forgotten about and healed from, from our childhood and our past. That takes a lot out of you, to revisit those again in front of the world.”

Berk originally announced his departure from Queer Eye in November 2023 through a heartfelt Instagram post. He wrote about his appreciation for the show and its fans. At the time, he kept the reasoning vague. "It’s not been an easy decision to be at peace with, but a necessary one," he wrote in the caption. "Although my journey with Queer Eye is over, my journey with you is not. You will be seeing more of me very soon."

When Will Queer Eye Season 9 Be Released?

The official release date has yet to be announced. As filming begins next month, we'll be keeping an eye out for updates on when we can expect to indulge in the ninth installment of the beloved series. Stay tuned!
