Rock the Block is back on HGTV, and season five is giving fans a lot to talk about. All four teams have competed (and lost) before, and now they're eager for a chance at redemption.
Fans of the show know the premise: The teams are given identical homes to design and a $250,000 budget for any renovations and updates, from kitchen appliances to windows to flooring. The winner is determined by how much value the HGTV stars add to the homes. After the show is over, the homes are put up for sale.
This time, Bryan and Sarah Baeumler (Renovation Island), Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas (Bargain Block), Lyndsay Lamb and Leslie Davis (Unsellable Houses), and Page Turner and Mitch Glew (Fix My Flip) are renovating identical houses in Treasure Island, Florida.

Once the walls are up, the appliances are installed, and the flooring and tile are set, the designers take over and put their own personal touches on the space with furniture, light fixtures, house plans, and more details. Because the properties are identical, the design is what sets the homes apart.
But, once the homes are put on the market, what happens to all of that furniture that was painstakingly chosen by the designers?
HGTV fans might be surprised to find out that the houses are sold empty. A representative from the network confirmed, "The houses are unfurnished when sold." Also, the cost of the furniture does not come out of the teams' $250,000 budget. This season, the furnishings are provided by Wayfair, and we expect they take it back after the show ends.
If you thought this was your chance to buy a home decorated by your favorite HGTV star, we're afraid you're out of luck!
