PSA: ‘Love Is Blind’ Seasons 2 and 3 Are Officially Happening!

It's been well over a year since Love Is Blind premiered on Netflix, and no offense to The Bachelor... but this is the best dating show on TV. Much like Nick Lachey is ~obviously Nick Lachey~, if you know what I mean. The Netflix series was a surprise hit when it dropped in early 2020, charming fans with its delightful mix of romance, drama, and sheer insanity. I mean, the plot of this show literally takes the concept of a blind date to a whole new level: The contestants “date” while living in a horrifying underground bunker, and they never physically see each other until they decide to get engaged and are finally let back out into the sunlight.

But what’s even crazier is that the show actually worked. I’m not gonna spoil it for you, but two pretty strong marriages and one extremely questionable relationship came out of Love Is Blind. So...can we expect seconds? Here’s what we know about Love Is Blind season 2.

It’s Happening

Netflix confirmed in 2020 LIB is getting second and THIRD seasons, which is absolutely amazing news. It will probably not drop until 2021 though.

We definitely could have seen this coming. Creator Chris Coelen told OprahMag.com that he’s “one hundred percent” down to make more seasons, saying, “I want to see a season 2 or a season 12. Don’t you?” He also confirmed that the pods (where the cast first meet each other) were custom-made for the show and are still lurking around Atlanta somewhere. Time for me to find out where those are for when the inevitable zombie apocalypse hits.

You—YES, YOU—Can Apply

Thanks to Decider’s sleuthing, we know how the applications for season 1 went down. The show used the casting site LoveIsBlind.CastingCrane.com, which is still active, despite not knowing if season 2 already began filming. Apparently, they also used this Facebook casting page, so go ahead and follow them.

Just remember, Love Is Blind S1 was filmed in Atlanta, but it looks like S2 will be filmed in Chicago. The show seems to want to pair locals with each other so they aren’t broken up by distance. Anyway, whatever, the point is THIS COULD BE YOU:

We're still waiting...

Love Is Blind’s first season took more than a month to shoot from early October to mid-November 2018. But here’s the thing: Part of the reason the show worked so well is because Netflix waited months to air it, giving the marriages time to make it or break it. The result? Audiences were way more invested in what actually happened to these relationships IRL.

There might've been some pressure on Netflix to rush season 2 given the show’s success, but thanks to COVID, everything is up in the air for when filming began. But part of what made Love Is Blind so satisfying was finding out which marriages actually lasted. My guess? We won't hear any news about the next season until at least the end of the summer.

But here's what happened to the couples from the first season.

For a brand-new dating show, it's actually amazing how two couples actually got married. If you were busy looking for a scorecard on what's happening with our five couples, here's where they are now.

  • Lauren and Cameron—married. And they're down for filming a spin-off series post-Love Is Blind.

  • Amber and Matt—married.

  • Jessica and Mark—split. Mark actually got engaged to a woman named Audrey Rainey and they welcomed son Ace in April!

  • Giannina and Damian—unclear. The last photo Damian posted with Giannina is from October 2020, so maybe they're just keeping their relationship under wraps for the time being?

  • Kelly and Kenny—split. Kenny actually got engaged to Alexandra Garrison in August 2020, and he looks so happy with her!

Even if there is a big wait, though, good news: You can fully distract yourself with Lauren and Cameron’s absolutely adorable YouTube channel. Can someone please find me a love like this ASAP????

Kay, bye, watching that now.
