Herr’s Sells Snack Balls That Taste Just Like Cookies & Cream Dippin’ Dots

Dippin' Dots might remind you of carnivals or sporting events, but now you can bring the taste of them to your home. Herr's makes Dippin' Dots cookies 'n cream snack balls that have all the sweetness of the ice cream in each crunchy bite.

Herr's may be best known for their potato chips and pretzels, but they've reached out beyond salty and have quite a few sweet snacks on the market. Herr's cotton candy balls, for example, look exactly like cheese balls but are bright blue and apparently taste like cotton candy.

These treats are a bit divisive, as some people find it hard to wrap their head around the familiar texture of something that should be savory or cheesy but instead is sweet. Nonetheless, Dippin' Dots snack balls are here for a limited time to try out. Bags of these curious treats were spotted in Pennsylvania, and Herr's confirmed that they're an all-new flavor on their Instagram page.

The actual snack pieces look like the same size, shape, and texture of a normal cheese ball, but they're white in color with little brown cookie specks. As crazy as it may sound, cookies 'n cream is a more subtle flavor than the Herr's snack balls that already exist. Besides cotton candy, the brand has introduced snack balls in orange cream pop, funnel cake, s'mores, pumpkin spice, and more.

I'd like to say that the familiar Dippin' Dots flavor might lend itself to these bite-sized enigmas because of the way the ice cream typically dissolves with each spoonful. These snack balls will probably dissipate with each bite in a similar (but crunchy?) way. I guess there's no telling until I try them out for myself but....I'm not totally turned off by the idea, HBU?
