Hero Police Officer Saves Cows From Burning Barn at the End of His Shift

One police officer is being hailed a hero after rescuing three farm cows from a burning barn in Wisconsin on June 25. Officer Andrew Crabb of the Sturgeon Bay Police Department was at the end of an overnight shift when he noticed nearby smoke. He quickly jumped into action.

We are happy to report that everyone (and all of the farm animals) are safe following the fiery scare. Knowing that makes watching the officer's body cam footage a lot less terrifying!

OMG! Officer Crabb wasted no time rushing to the aid of the cows, and we're sure the animals and their farmer are so grateful.

As he told Fox News Digital, "I didn't have to really encourage them too much. They knew exactly what they needed to do once that gate was open." That's amazing! This officer sounds well-prepared to act under pressure, and it paid off amazingly for everyone involved.

The all-volunteer fire brigade who responded to this call just before 6 a.m. was also well-prepared. Officer Crabb said he was "absolutely impressed" by the team, who was able to save most of the barn. Unsurprisingly, the farm owner's daughter--a 911 dispatcher who is no stranger to emergencies--was also incredibly grateful.

"Thank you Officer Crabb for not only seeing the fire and calling it in but saving the 3 new cattle my Dad was housing," she commented on the police department's Facebook post. Those brand new cows had been in a locked area of the barn since they're "prone to escaping," but in this case, that talent turned out to be a good thing.
