Update, 03/13/21:

Alright, so! Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez just released a statement to TMZ. According to the power couple (exes?), they're still together. They recently told TMZ that they're working on their relationship.

"All the reports are inaccurate," the statement read. "We are working through some things." TMZ also was told what they're working through has nothing to do with a third party.

A TMZ source says they were "bad" on Friday when the news broke. So, it doesn't necessarily seem like they're in the best place... yet. But, that doesn't mean they can't get there again, right?

Update, 03/12/21:

Unfortunately, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez's wedding will no longer happen at all, because J.Lo and A-Rod have broken up, according to multiple sources.

Jennifer and Alex called it quits a month after affair rumors circulated, though it's unclear whether the untrue speculation contributed to the split. A sad update for all involved!

Original story:

Alex Rodriguez got down on one knee in 2019 and gave Jennifer Lopez the biggest engagement ring of all time. Like, no one else should even bother trying to give their loved ones a shiny rock at this point. And now the world is obsessing over the couple’s upcoming (albeit slightly delayed) wedding. Considering how much these two love an over-the-top grand gesture (remember that $146,420 Porsche?), their wedding will likely be a big deal. And considering how many celebrity friends they have, the guest list will likely be royal wedding levels of stacked. Here’s what we know so far.

Their Exes Are Invited

Alex confirmed as much during an appearance on GMA 3: Strahan, Sara and Keke, saying, “I would say exes invited to wedding. All-inclusive. The more, the merrier.”

Dang, mature! As a reminder, J.Lo has been married several times. Most recently, she was married to Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014 (they have two kids); from 2001 to 2003, she was married to Cris Judd; and then before that, she was married to Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998. Meanwhile, A-Rod was married to Cynthia Scurtis from 2002 to 2008 and they have two kids. So, yeah, there could be a lot of Ghosts From Relationships Past in attendance!

Their Plans Have Been Delayed

In a virtual interview with Ellen DeGeneres back in April 2020, J.Lo said her wedding plans are on pause right now as her family social distances amid COVID-19.

“It did affect it a little bit,” she said. “So we’ll see what happens now.…I really don’t know what’s gonna happen now as far as dates or anything like that.”

“We are just kind of in a holding pattern like the rest of the world,” she added. “So, again, it’s just something we have to wait and see in a few months how this all pans out.”

Fast-forward eight months later, and things still haven’t changed. During a December 2020 appearance on Access Hollywood, J.Lo said she and her soon-to-be hubby have had to postpone their wedding two times now because of the pandemic.

“We’ve talked about so many different things ’cause we had to cancel the wedding…because of COVID-19, because of the quarantine. And we actually did it twice, which people don’t know,” she said. “We kind of have let it go for a second, and I don’t know what we’re going to do, we talk about small, big.”

The good news? It doesn’t seem like anyone is in a rush to break any guidelines to tie the knot. “I think we just feel like, ‘Let’s just wait it out.’ There’s no rush, we’re good, everything’s cool, and it’ll happen when the time is right. I feel like it’s not a huge priority to go and have a big wedding right now, that’s not what life is about,” she added.

After having so many cancellations, J.Lo revealed in December that she and A-Rod have actually considered not getting married at all. “We’ve talked about that for sure,” she said, per Hollywood Life, in an interview with Andy Cohen. “I mean, at our age, we’ve both been married before, it’s like, do we get married? Do we not? What does it mean for us?”

They Were Planning to Have a Destination Wedding

Alex confirmed this nugget of info also on GMA 3: Strahan, Sara and Keke, saying, “I got one clue for y’all. One wedding clue. It’s gonna be a long flight.”

A source later told Us Weekly that the wedding was supposed to take place in beautiful Italy. “It was all planned out and paid for,” the insider revealed. “They obviously had to postpone it due to coronavirus, but J.Lo wants to marry A-Rod shortly after things go back to normal.”

Even though they had a whole plan, because of what’s going on in the world rn, Alex and J.Lo are considering something more low-key. During a virtual appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Alex revealed that his daughter, Emma, celebrated her birthday recently and it got him thinking. “What was great is we had a drive-through party,” he said. “And then some people said maybe we have a drive-through wedding. It will be cheaper!”

(I mean, at least that would be slightly better than the TikTok wedding Ellen DeGeneres suggested to J.Lo.)

The Wedding Was Originally Set to Take Place Over Summer 2020

I mean, this detail seems fitting considering that Alex proposed on the beach, right? According to an Us Weekly source, Jennifer and Alex intended to walk down this aisle THIS SUMMER.

Apparently, the wedding was actually supposed to be even earlier, but because J.Lo’s been busy with raking in the checks as of late, it was bumped so she and Alex could have enough time to seriously plan. “J.Lo and Alex’s wedding is supposed to be this summer after postponing it because of her filming schedule, her Super Bowl performance, and other work commitments,” a second source told Us Weekly. “She is finally ready to shift her focus to wedding planning and making that a top priority.”

J.Lo backed this rumor up this herself when she spoke with spoke with Andy Cohen and confirmed their destination and initial timeline. “It was really sad because we were supposed to get married in June and we had planned it all. So in March or April, we’re looking down the pipe and we’re going, ‘This is maybe not going to happen.’ Italy’s the worst place in the world. And we were going to get married in Italy.…It was like…‘Okay, we got to cancel everything,’” she said.

When the Wedding Happens, It’ll Be Intimate

A source told People that the couple is “not doing a huge wedding” and will probably opt for “a small family celebration that will, of course, include all four kids.” Kay, cool, but remember that all their closest friends are famous, so even a small wedding is gonna be a major Hollywood moment.

They Wanted to Get Married in a Church

In a YouTube Video, J.Lo revealed she wants to get married in 2020 and wants the ceremony to go down in a church, saying, “I’d like to get married in a church this time. Never been married in a church.”

Her Son Was Supposed to Walk Her Down the Aisle

J.Lo confirmed this highly adorable fact to Entertainment Tonight, simply saying “of course” when asked if her son, Max, planned to give her away.

No, They Aren’t Spending $3 Million

Gossip Cop shot down this rumor after a tabloid “source” claimed the couple was spending $3 million and said, “This is going to be an event like no one’s ever seen before. There will be music, dancing, extravagant floral arrangements, and plenty of celebrity guests.” The source also alleged there’d be a celeb guest list of 500 people, including George and Amal Clooney. I mean…I could see it!

J.Lo’s Not Wearing a Princess Dress

In case ya missed it, J.Lo was spotted out in NYC wearing a giant wedding ball gown for an upcoming movie but assured fans that her IRL dress would look nothing like it. “I know I don’t want one as big as I’m wearing in the movie,” she told Extra TV. “That one is a lot to carry around. Too big. But amazing and I’m so lucky I got to wear it.”

That’s all for now, but check back in for more deets next time you’re bored at work.
