Once you finally sit down and watch the premiere of Lawmen: Bass Reeves—which airs Sunday, November 5—you'll more than likely come across a familiar face! That's because Moses Brings Plenty has a role on the show as Minco Dodge, friend to Bass Reeves (David Oyelowo) and trusted member of the Choctaw Native American community. Moses Brings Plenty is just one of the many talented cast members of Lawmen: Bass Reeves, but fans of Western shows may recognize him before anyone else. Because now that you think about it, you know that you've seen his face before, but from where exactly?

That's right, Moses Brings Plenty was also cast in none other than our favorite Western: Yellowstone! Ring a bell? His character Mo is the right-hand man to Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham), chief of the Broken Rock Reservation. Mo is a rather quiet individual, but he's important nonetheless.

His words on Yellowstone may be few, but Moses Brings Plenty does a lot of the talking and work behind-the-scenes! In fact, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he went on to discuss his work on 1923 (a Yellowstone prequel starring Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford). Though he didn't act in the series, he was responsible for the making sure the tribes being filmed on the show were accurately represented.

"Really for me, 1923 was the first one that no one really knew about," Moses Brings Plenty said. "The Crow tribe was represented. I went to Crow Agency and had a few meetings with different people, and we got connected with Birdie Real Bird. Birdie Real Bird is a traditional language speaker, fluent in speaking and writing. And that’s one of the great assets to being a part of helping our actors and actresses with the language."

Speaking of 1923 and his work on the show, you may not have known that Moses Brings Plenty's nephew, Cole Brings Plenty, has a role in it! He plays Pete Plenty Clouds. Looks like talent runs in the family!

Beyond 1923 and Yellowstone, Moses Brings Plenty has roles in movies like The Cherokee Word for Water, Urban Rez, Rez Bomb, and most recently, Dead Man's Hand. Off screen, he's married to his wife, Sara Ann Haney-Brings Plenty, who he shares a son with!
