Here’s Why Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Wedding Gave Troian Bellisario ‘Extreme Anxiety’

Pretty Little Liars star Troian Bellisario opened up about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's wedding in a new interview, revealing that preparing for the big event was an absolute "nightmare" for her.

In an interview with the Daily Telegraph's Stellar published on Saturday, July 18, the actor revealed she was worried about concealing her stomach because no one knew she was five months pregnant at the time. Bellisario welcomed her daughter Aurora with husband Patrick J. Adams in October 2018.

“Of course I [had outfit anxiety], and I had it twofold," Bellisario said, per E! News. "One, because I was trying to conceal the fact that I was five months pregnant. I was absolutely positive that it was going to be revealed."

That's not all. She was also terrified the British press would "tear her apart" over her choice of fascinator. (You know, the headpieces often decorated with flowers, feathers, or pearls that are popular among the royals.)

"But I also had extreme anxiety about…what are they called? Those hat things?” she said. "That’s it, fascinators. They look ridiculous unless you’re in the 1930s. You could get one that is an absolute piece of art, but then are you being too vain and trying to call too much attention to yourself? Or if you get a fascinator that’s very small, are you not going for tradition?"

“I’d never needed a fascinator in my life, and here I was trying to walk this tightrope of ‘don’t go too big, don’t go too small.’ It was a nightmare,” Bellisario continued.

Luckily, her Australian stylist, Annabelle Harron, had her back. “I called her right before I was about to walk out the door and I was like, ‘Annabelle, this is not a full hat,’” Bellisario recalled.
"She said, ‘It’s fine, you have a veil, you have a head covering.’ And I was like, ‘If the British press tears me apart, I can never forgive you for this.’ And she said, ‘Trust me, I’m an Aussie. I’ve got you!'"

Thankfully, Bellisario ultimately had nothing to be nervous about. She looked beautiful at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's ceremony, wearing a cream-colored dress paired with gold heels and a simple pearl-adorned fascinator.
