Queen Elizabeth II has, sadly, passed away at Balmoral Castle (her home in Scotland), prompting her entire family to rush there—including Prince Harry.

Harry canceled a previously scheduled engagement in England on Thursday in order to join his family in Balmoral, while Meghan Markle stayed in the country. Royal reporter Omid Scobie tweeted, “A source has shared an update stating that only Prince Harry has made the trip up to Balmoral. Like the Duchess of Cambridge (who is in Windsor with their three children), the Duchess of Sussex is staying back in England (but still not attending tonight’s WellChild Awards).”

As Scobie notes, Kate Middleton also stayed behind and only Prince William joined the rest of the royal family in Balmoral—including the new King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, Prince Andrew, and Prince Anne. Meanwhile, Prince William and Duchess Kate’s children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—have their first official day at Lambrook School in Windsor and were therefore not present in Scotland.

After the Queen passed, King Charles III released an official statement. Meghan and Prince Harry also acknowledged the Queen’s passing by changing their website face to say, “In loving memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II 1926–2022.”
