Here’s Why Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian Skipped the Met Gala Despite Their Sisters Attending

Inquiring minds want to know: Why were Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian noticeably absent from this year’s Met Gala while sisters Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Kendall Jenner attended? Well, after tons of internet sleuthing, no answers are official official, but there could be a few very valid reasons why the whole Kardashian gang didn’t walk the Met steps this time around.

One factor? Kourtney may have honestly been too busy juggling a number of obligations. The star didn’t post anything about the ceremony in New York last night, instead opting to share a photo dump captioned “lately” along with an Instagram Story wishing Charli D’Amelio (who, btw, is dating Travis Barker’s son, Landon) a happy birthday.

This comes after the rumor mill was buzzing in early March when Page Six alleged the Kardashian-Jenners were “uninvited” to fashion’s biggest night out amid word that Anna Wintour was “cracking down” on who makes the final guest list. But in the wake of those stories, not only were sources saying Kim was “very unhappy” about the situation because it was giving misinformation vibes after she’d already received her invite, but it also brought back to light the other older rumor alleging Khloé had been blacklisted from the event. (Which, false! The Good American founder wound up debunking that mean rumor herself during an episode on last season’s The Kardashians, saying, “I have been invited in the past. I just opted not to go. I’m not big on red carpets. I think I’ve made that very clear.”) And, I mean, she low-key shut down the Met Gala last year, so....

Speaking of Khloé though, this year, the celeb decided to skip out on the festivities but was very much a supportive sister from afar, reposting red carpet interviews of Kim, Kendall, and Kylie along with pics. In one IG Story, she even called out Kendall and Kylie for not sharing content she could repost yet, joking, “Kenny and Ky post so I can repost your epic epic glory!!!!! I’m not being sued by photogs.”

It’s likely that Khloé skipped the Met Gala this year because she had other commitments with her children, True and her new baby boy who was just born ~eight months ago. Hopefully next year, Kourtney and Khloé will make their Met Gala comeback!
