'LIB's Johnie And Chris Drop Some Major Tea In The Newest Episodes
Do you believe that love is truly blind? After watching the first seven episodes of Love Is Blind season 5, I still can't decide because this group of singles is about as chaotic as it comes. ICYDK, three new Love Is Blind episodes just hit Netflix after the season premiere last Friday—and the Houston singles are bringing the drama, sweet love stories, and tears.
This experiment asks singles to date each other in "pods" and decide to get engaged without every having laid eyes on each other. Basically, it takes "blind date" to the next level. After the couples get engaged, they have to see if they can make the pod magic work in the real world.
This time around, one contestant named Izzy is a total hot commodity. A lot of the women—particularly Johnie and Stacy—fall hard for him. And while it seems like Johnie and Izzy really hit it off in the pods, things don't totally work out as expected. Enter: Chris. Johnie *also* hits it off with Chris, so obviously, there's a choice to be made.
Now that new episodes have dropped, you may be hankering for more LIB details—especially concerning Johnie and Chris' current 'ship status. Below, Women's Health has all the details.

Who is Chris?
Ah, Chris. He's, IMHO, the sweetest of the pod squad this season. The 28-year-old project and development manager was hoping to "fall in love with his best friend in the pods," per Netflix.
Prior to entering the experiment, he was tired of falling for the wrong women, and he was looking for someone who could be honest, selfless, and have a good sense of humor. Bonus points if she's willing to ride on the back of his motorcycle. (Yup, he's a biker, and a huge fan of the Astros, per his Instagram).
Who is Johnie?
Johnie, on the other hand, describes herself as a "constant work in progress," per Netflix. The 32-year-old lawyer was looking for a man who knew exactly what he was looking for. At first, she found that in Izzy—not Chris (but more on that in a sec).
Johnie was previously married, so she's definitely not trying to repeat the mistakes of the past. However, she's pretty up front about the fact that she doesn't always have the healthiest relationships and ignores some red flags.
What happens in the pods?
Chris is pretty set on Johnie from the start, and the couple makes a pretty good match overall. They're flirty, have good conversation, and bond beyond the shimmering blue wall—truly everything you want in a LIB relationship!
Chris is a bit more willing to put his heart on the line for Johnie. He tells her that he's in love with her, sees himself getting married to her, and gets very vulnerable. Chris even opens up about losing his virginity during a trip to Mexico with his high school friends, after a woman "pressured herself on me."
"I specifically remember saying no a couple times," he tells Johnie, "but I just felt pressure from her." Overall, the pair seem to create a strong connection in the first few episodes.
Despite this, Johnie leans into her relationship with Izzy throughout the pod dates, and tells Chris she has a "stronger connection with someone else." She then tells Izzy she's falling in love with him (and, also that she was never actually in love with her husband). Unfortunately, Izzy ultimately chooses Stacy, and Johnie is left to pick up the pieces of her heart and figure things out with Chris.
At first, Johnie is upset, but then she doubles down on some rather controversial behavior. She goes back to Chris and says she chose wrong, and that he was the one she should've gone for all along. She also says Izzy is just the type of guy she always goes for—insinuating he's a walking red flag.
Do they get engaged?
Nope. Chris wasn't able to get over the fact that Johnie initially chose Izzy. The entire situation was a little too much for him. Plus, by the end of episode 4, Johnie is a bit of a polarizing contestant overall.
Both Chris and Johnie end up leaving the pods single. TBH, I don't blame Chris for making this call. He really put his heart on the line for Johnie!
They show up at the pod hang together to share big news.
The group gets back together in episode 7 to hang out at a BBQ. Obviously, this means there are a lot of relationship dynamics to unpack. Some contestants are meeting each other for the first time, or seeing their exes outside of the pods.
And Johnie and Chris are not without their news... They show up together and tell everyone that they're dating again!
After their pod breakup, Johnie says they actually ran into each other in the airport as they were each headed back home. She adds that she felt like she instinctively knew the guy in front of her was Chris, even though they'd never met in person. Johnie heard him talking on the phone, and the two picked things back up again.
Where do things stand with Izzy?
Well, at the BBQ, the whole Izzy-and-Johnie drama comes to a head. The exes sit down to debrief what happened in the pods, and Izzy tries to clear the air. Then, in what is possibly one of the most dramatic convos of the franchise, Izzy tells Johnie that she is "sketchy as f**k."
This upsets Johnie and she snaps back at Izzy before going to back to debrief with Chris. She starts to cry, asking him if everyone there really things she's sketchy. Chris consoles his girlfriend, and later tells WH what he thought of this comment.
"I don't think really anybody can comment on anything else other than what they talked to. I had a tremendous amount of time with Johnnie, and I don't think she's sketchy at all," he says. "It seems like Izzy was the other side of that; he had a ton of time with Johnnie, but not everyone has the same relationships and no, I certainly didn't think she was sketchy."
I think it's safe to say that Izzy and Johnie are not, er, friends.
Are Johnie and Chris still together?
Well, after their pod hang debut, it's hard to say if they're still together now. They don't currently follow each other on Instagram, which is often a textbook sign for they are never getting back together. But, they did seem to be super close at the BBQ, and Chris was adamant about defending her, so perhaps they make it after all!
