Update: Chrissy Teigen Announces She’s Back on Twitter!

Update: April 16, 2021

Chrissy Teigen is back on Twitter after quitting the platform in March. She hopped back online on Friday morning, tweeting, “Turns out it feels TERRIBLE to silence yourself and also no longer enjoy belly chuckles randomly throughout the day and also lose like 2000 friends at once lol. I choose to take the bad with the good!!”

Welcome back, Chrissy!

Original story: March 25, 2021

Chrissy Teigen is officially done with Twitter, and TBH, the app will truly never be the same! Last night, Chrissy signed on one last time, saying goodbye to her followers in a lengthy series of tweets explaining her decision to leave Twitter.

“Hey. For over 10 years, you guys have been my world. I honestly owe so much to this world we have created here. I truly consider so many of you my actual friends,” she said in the now-deleted thread. “But it’s time for me to say goodbye. This no longer serves me as positively as it serves me negatively, and I think that’s the right time to call something. My life goal is to make people happy. The pain I feel when I don’t is too much for me. I’ve always been portrayed as the strong clapback girl but I’m just not.”

Chrissy went on to talk about how she’s been “deeply bruised” by Twitter but also learned a lot from interacting with people on the app.

“My desire to be liked and fear of pissing people off has made me somebody you didn’t sign up for and a different human than I started out here as! Live well, tweeters. Please know all I ever cared about was you!!!” she said, encouraging her followers to “know and never forget that your words matter. No matter what you see, what that person portrays, or your intention. For years I have taken so many small, 2-follower-count punches that at this point, I am honestly deeply bruised.”

Chrissy added that she’s “made my mistakes” over the years and “said f*cked-up sh*t and killed myself over it as much as you killed me.” But ultimately, Chrissy explained that one thing she hasn’t “learned is how to block out the negativity.”

She ended her post with, “I’m just a sensitive sh*t, okay!? I don’t wanna be this way! I just am! But I love you guys and I cherish our time together, I truly do. I also hate you.”

Chrissy!!!! Honestly, Twitter will be less fun without her voice, but gotta respect the decision to opt out.
