The Amazing Race 34 headed west this week, traveling from the forests of France to the beaches of Spain. They began yet another "Megaleg," as the first half of their day was filled with frustrating puzzles, confusing bike rides, and fishy challenges.

As announced at the beginning of the episode, this was the first part of a "Megaleg" that had the teams doing two Detours and two Roadblocks across two different cities. As such, the episode ended on "To Be Continued" as most of the teams had completed the first half of the leg.
Which teams finished at the top tonight?
At the halfway point of the Megaleg, Derek Xiao and Claire Rehfuss continue to cruise in first place. Despite Derek's slowgoing nature on the bike, and Claire unable to handle the fish during the Detour, the couple's craftiness with the tasks has kept them in the lead. Aubrey Ares and David Hernandez are in the top for the first time in a while, currently in second thanks to Aubrey's skills at the Roadblock. And Luis Colon and Michelle Burgos are close behind, the only team to have paddleboarded during the Detour.
Which teams finished at the bottom tonight?
The episode ended on a cliffhanger between two usually-dominant teams at the Detour. Emily Bushnell and Molly Sinert got off to a slow start due to Emily's ever-present knee injury, and got further held back by their difficulties navigating the city. And brothers Marcus and Michael Craig have had a nightmare leg so far, with a crucial oversight from Marcus in the Roadblock sending them into last place early on. We'll see if one of these two frontrunner teams will be the next eliminated.
