Move over, Barbenheimer! The moviegoing experience of the year is actually Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour. The "Anti-Hero"singer surprised her fans Wednesday by dropping the film a day early—so you can get tickets as early as Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023. "Karma"is seeing Taylor's movie this weekend!
ICYMI, Eras had the most wonderful Hollywood premiere this week, complete with appearances from Swifties, Adam Sandler and his daughters, Beyoncé (!!), and, of course, Taylor herself. The film's star wore a blue gown by her signature designer, Oscar De La Renta, and finished the look off with a pinned-up 1989 hairdo (no, Taylor did not actually chop her hair).
With the film hitting theaters, Swifties and casual fans may have a few queries about proper movie etiquette. After all, the concert was a major dance-and-sing-your-heart-out fest. So, is this going to be different? Can you sing? Dance? What do you wear?!
Remain calm (Je suis calme!). Women's Health has all the details.
When can I go see the Eras movie?
Drop everything now. You can see Eras right now, if you really want to! Taylor released the film a day early, so there's plenty of showtimes available to see it, starting today.
Unfortunately, the movie is only avail for fans in the United States and Canada right now, but the film will be available in 90 countries starting on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023. As you can probably guess, the demand is very high—so I'd recommend getting your tickets ASAP if you haven't already.
One more thing of note: Taylor is very adamant about making Eras a real event (as in, as close to the real concert as possible), so there are only showtimes available on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Where can I go see the Eras movie?
Probably any theater near you! Although Taylor's movie is distributed through AMC theaters, you can still catch the flick at Regal and Cinemark affiliated auditoriums, per Variety.
I'd suggest looking up showtimes at your favorite local spot and going from there. Overall, you can catch the film at around 8,500 theaters around the world, according to Variety.
Am I allowed to sing along?
According to Taylor, yes! It's encouraged. AMC officially asks that you sing and dance to your heart's content throughout the event. But definitely avoid jumping on seats, blocking other patrons from their viewing, or standing in the way of an emergency exit.
The "Karma" queen was spotted dancing at various points during her viewing of the Eras movie, and she was filmed sitting and standing (depending on the moment). It looked like she even busted out her choreography from the actual tour, too!

That said, it's probably wise to gauge the vibe of the crowd you're attending with, too. Women's Health editors (and resident Swifties) will be feeling out the vibes, and following suit of those around them. Just have fun, and make sure you're letting everyone around you have fun, too!
Are people dressing up for the movie?
Sort of! If you don't have an Oscar De La Renta gown hiding in the back of your closet, anything Taylor-themed will do. Based on the fans' attire at the premiere, it looks like a slightly toned down version of typical Eras tour concert 'fits is permissible. And friendship bracelets are a must.

Other Swifties, including Women's Health editors, are planning on wearing Taylor merch for the show. My 10-year-old niece, an extremely dedicated fan, plans to dress up as Red era Taylor Swift for Halloween, but she doesn't want to be an outfit repeater. Her premiere outfit of choice is a Taylor Swift T-shirt that has several different Eras depicted on it.
How long is the Eras movie?
Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is exactly two hours and 48 minutes. The film includes 41 of the 45-song set (excluding "The Archer," "'Tis The Damn Season," "Cardigan," and "Long Live."). It will also have about 10 to 15 minutes of previews or pre-show content, according to the AMC website.
Swifties report that the film will end with a blooper reel (or mistakes that have happened throughout the tour)and the studio version of "Long Live (Taylor's Version)" as the end credits song. Oh, and don't forget to hit concessions for your Taylor Swift popcorn.
No matter what your Eras tour film experience is like, I'm sure it'll be a night to remember. Taylor is, indeed, a Mastermind!
