While Reese Witherspoon, 47, wasn't nominated for any acting awards at the Golden Globes, she still proved to be a winner in our book for her stunning beauty look. Lucky for us, we got the scoop on all the products used on the big night—from the Westman Atelier Vital Skincare Complexion Drops ($68) to the Westman Atelier Face Trace Contour Stick ($48)—straight from her makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan.
According to Deenihan, she wanted to keep the look classic to compliment Witherspoon's Monique Lhuillier dress. The makeup artist went for a defined eye, soft pink lips and rosy cheeks. Here's the full breakdown:
1. Westman Atelier Vital Skincare Complexion Drops
For Witherspoon's glowy skin, Deenihan used these complexion drops in shade III for a light, natural coverage. She notes, "These complexion drops help even the skin's tone, while also hydrating and smoothing [the base]." She also used the Vital Skin Foundation Stick ($68), with a combination of shade III and V, for any missing areas. Oh, and her secret to a blurred base? Using the fingertips to seamlessly blend the product onto the skin.
2. Westman Atelier Face Trace Contour Stick
The sharp cheekbones comes courtesy of this contour stick in the 'Truffle' shade and a blending brush, which helps "diffuse the creamy formula with ease, leaving subtly defined features," according to Deenihan. She also applied a dusty rose nude blush ($48) along Witherspoon's cheekbones before adding a warm rose highlighter ($75) in the same area and at the bridge of her nose for a brighter finish. For the final touch, she set the base with the Westman Atelier Vital Pressed Skincare Powder ($75) with a heavy focus on the T-zone and under-eye areas.
3. Westman Atelier Bonne Brow Defining Pencil
As mentioned, Deenihan wanted the eye look to be defined for the red carpet. She started with Witherspoon's brows (which she deemed to already be in amazing shape) and went over them using the Westman Atelier Bonne Brow Defining Pencil in 'Clay' shade ($38). She shares, "Its buildable formula and angled tip allowed me to create fine, hair-like strokes, which is ideal for filling in the tiniest of sparse areas or great for those who needs to create a fuller brow."
Aside from the brows, she used a warm bronze eyeshadow ($88) on the entire lid, soft brown shade ($88) in the crease and a rich chocolate shade on the outer corner of the eyes to amplify the look. To really make Witherspoon's eyes pop, she used the Westman Atelier Eye Love You Eye Pencil in 'Kôhl Brun' shade ($34) along the water line and under the bottom lashes. Finally, she finished off the eyes with a few coats of mascara ($45) in 'Pitch Black' for voluminous lashes—no falsies needed.
4. Westman Atelier Lip Suede Palette: Les Nudes
The beauty look wasn't complete with a splash of color on the lips. Deenihan used Westman Atelier Lip Suede Palette ($85) to create a pinky nude lip using the 'Peony' and 'Café Creme' shades. The MUA relied on a lip brush to apply an even coat and bring out the rosy shade. She even added a bit of shine (thanks to a cool beige tinted lip balm) on the pout that definitely stole the spotlight at the Golden Globes.
