Rosé is one of the most popular drinks around, especially as the weather gets warmer and consumers around the country are eager to enjoy a light, refreshing glass of wine. The popular pink beverage, which is made from a wide variety of grapes using the skin contact method, is beloved for its notes of red fruit, citrus, melon, and more. It also boasts a vibrant hue, and is generally affordable. While there is a wide range of prices for a glass of rosé, you often don't have to spend a good chunk of change in order to enjoy the drink.

However, the price of a glass of rosé does vary based on where in the country you are, regardless of the type of rosé you're drinking. FinanceBuzz, which focuses on personal finance, recently researched rosé wine prices in every state to find where wine drinkers can expect to pay the most and least for this drink across the country. According to the data—the price of a regular-size glass of rosé at more than 500 restaurants and bars around the U.S.—the average price for a glass of rosé around the country is $10.06.

States Where Rosé Is Most Expensive

11 states have the most expensive rosé prices, with one surprising state leading the way. There are also several ties in the bunch.

Nevada

A glass of rosé in the Silver State will cost you an average of $12.70—more than $2.50 above the national average.

California

Nevada's neighbor to the west also charges quite a bit for a glass of rosé. The average price for some pink wine in Cali, which is $12.50 to be exact, is a whopping 24 percent above the national average.

New York and Hawaii

These two states don't have much in common, save for the average price of a glass of rosé. If you find yourself in either of these locales, expect to pay about $12.30 for some vino.

Massachusetts and Minnesota

Finally, somewhere where you can snag a glass of rosé for less than $12! Should you be parched in either of these states, a serving of rosé will set you back approximately $11.60.

Maine

Mainers pay an average of $11.40 for a glass of rosé—an estimated 13 percent above the national average.

Washington

A glass of rosé costs an average of $11.20 in the Evergreen State. That figure is approximately 11 percent above the national average.

Utah

If you've got $11.10 to spare, you can enjoy a glass of rosé in Utah.

Kansas and New Jersey

For a glass of rosé that costs less than $11, head to either one of these two states. The average cost is about $10.90 per serving.

States Where Rosé Is Least Expensive

Not surprisingly, many of the places where a glass is most affordable can be found in the Great Plains region. Expect to spend around $9 for some of the colorful wine.

Mississippi and South Dakota

To find the cheapest glass of rosé head to either one of these states, where you'll be expected to pay an average of $8.30. If you're keeping track, that's more than $1.50 cheaper per glass than the national average.

North Dakota

At an average of $8.43 per glass, rosé costs roughly 16 percent below the national average in North Dakota.

West Virginia

West Virginians pay an average of $8.60 for a glass of rosé.

Idaho

If you're in Idaho, expect to pay an average of $8.70 for a serving of rosé. That figure is 13 percent below the national average.

Nebraska and Oklahoma

For a glass of rosé that will set you back an average of $8.90, head to either one of these Great Plains states.

Montana

In Montana, a glass of rosé costs an average of $8.93—an estimated 11 percent below the national average.

North Carolina

If you find yourself in North Carolina, expect to pay an average of $9.05 for a glass of rosé.

Illinois

A glass of rosé in the Prairie State will set you back an average of $9.08. While Illinois is the most expensive among the least expensive states, that figure is still an estimated 10 percent below the national average.
