Here's a list of the most affordable homes you can rent in Palm Beach County right now

Living in South Florida certainly isn't cheap.

And in Palm Beach County, you have to make $100,000 each year to not be considered at risk for rent burden. According to 2022 income data released by the county last July, a yearly salary of $54,000 to $72,000 is considered low-income throughout the Palm Beaches.

The per capita income for Palm Beach County, according to the most recent data recorded by the Census Bureau, is $43,733 each year — around $21.87 hourly and an estimated monthly take-home pay of $2,846 each month. The average cost of rent for a two-bedroom apartment in Palm Beach County ranges from around $2,300 to about $3,100 each month, depending on location.

Palm Beach may be a playground for the rich and famous, but the rest of the county is facing problems in providing affordable housing for most of its residents. And $2,000-to-$3,000-a-month rentals don't scream "affordable."

Are there any homes in the Palm Beaches left for people who aren't wealthy? That depends on how picky and how old you are.

There are more options for seniors listed on the apps right now, with 55+ communities offering affordable condos and townhomes. Young professionals or students looking for an affordable place often are living with one or more roommates who can help cover the rent and utility costs.

Whether you're looking for a place to live or just curious about the cost of renting in the Palm Beaches, you don't have to run straight to Zillow to sift and sort. Here's a brief roundup of some of the most affordable Palm Beach County homes up for rent right now on Rent.com and Zillow.
