Here’s What Liam Hemsworth Has to Say About His Split From Miley Cyrus

Many were shocked over the weekend when Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth announced they are separating less than a year after they tied the knot in a private ceremony at their Nashville home.

“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” Cyrus's representative told People on Saturday, August 10. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”

Since the announcement, photos emerged of Cyrus kissing Brody Jenner's ex, Kaitlynn Carter, in Italy, and she has still been active on Instagram. But Hemsworth has remained silent, until now.

According to the Daily Mail, Hemsworth has been staying with his brother Chris in their native Australia. While out for frozen yogurt, a reporter asked him about the split. "You don't understand what it's like. I don't want to talk about it, mate," Hemsworth reportedly said.

Cyrus, meanwhile, is spending time with her sister, Brandi, and Carter in Italy. "Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win. Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa, change is inevitable," she wrote on Instagram. "The Dolomites were not created over night, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed. My dad always told me 'Nature never hurries but it is always on time”.... it fills my heart with peace and hope KNOWING that is true. I was taught to respect the planet and its process and I am committed to doing the same with my own .... 💙"

She also posted two more images recently, writing, "New day. New adventure. 💚" and "Life’s a climb... but the view is great."
