The following story contains spoilers from the recent season of The Masked Singer.

The world's strangest social experiment, The Masked Singer, is back once again and for its fourth season on Fox. This year, we'll witness 16 more costumed celebrities attempt to sing and dance their way to America's heart. Last week, we learned rapper Busta Rhymes was the Giraffe after being eliminated, which leaves plenty of other disguises to be uncovered.

This leads us to a peculiar other costume: the seahorse, "the locomotion of the ocean." Based on a recent preview episode, we know a couple things so far about who might be hiding behind the mask. Of course, fans are already guessing the celebrity's identity with the few clues available, some of which are plainly absurd—but given Sarah Palin's appearance last season, nothing is truly off the table these days. Here's what we know so far about the Seahorse. (This post will be updated through season 4 of The Masked Singer.)

What clues do we have about the Seahorse?

From the preview episode prior to the show's start, we learn the Seahorse was on the lookout for a "quiet place to hide," which, uh, is not exactly helpful. Luckily, though, there are more clues from the Seahorse himself or herself in subsequent episodes:

  • They apparently felt "trapped" by their "insecurities and shyness" at some point in their career.

  • They've also been called "melodramatic."

  • They refer to themselves to a "dauntless diva."

  • They made a name for themselves, though it only ended in "rejection."

  • They've experienced incredible "loss and pain."

Who did the judges guess?

During the clue video, Robin saw a hog with warts, and guessed "Hogwarts," meaning it could perhaps be someone from the Harry Potter movies. When the "dauntless diva" line was read, Jenny McCarthy guessed Kesha.

Their official guesses, during the performance, though, were Halsey, Hailee Steinfeld, and Bebe Rexha.

Who is Seahorse on The Masked Singer?

The Seahorse's Masked Singer debut was performing Rihanna's "Only Girl (In The World.)" followed by a Celion Dion classic of "My Heart Will Go On."

People seem to be on the same page: This could be a popstar. The judges guesses could are all on that track, but it's hard to feel confident. Many in the YouTube comments are suggesting Tori Kelly or Carly Rae Jepsen, both of which could be on the right track too.

Kelly has covered the same Rihanna song in the past:

Jepsen hasn't covered the Rihanna song, but she's known as a vibrant and exciting live performer, matching the demeanor the Seahorse showed on stage.

Another guess? Halle Bailey, half of superstar R+B duo (and Beyoncé proteges) Chloe and Halle. Bailey was cast for the upcoming live-action edition of Disney's The Little Mermaid, so a sea creature like the Seahorse would check out perfectly, right?

Other fans already had some decent guesses even before the episode aired. On Twitter, user JoeCap393 seems to think "a quiet place" is a reference to the 2018 flick starring John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, and the latter must be behind the mask. At least one Redditor think it's Gigi Goode, a drag queen who appeared on a recent season of RuPaul's Drag Race, based on not much other than the Seahorse's flamboyant get-up. (Other Redditors even argue it's Ariana Grande after they uncovered an interview where she proclaimed her love of the seahorse. Still, we'd think Grande has better things to do?)

Looks like we'll have to wait and see until the Seahorse returns to The Masked Singer stage.
