Here's how to get your house or business on The Courier Journal holiday lights map

The more than 100 Minion inflatable figures have become an annual draw to this New Albany home in the 2000 block of Indiana Avenue. Mike Pourteau, homeowner and creator of this holiday exhibit, didn't even want to speculate the actual number of Minions in this display. "It hurts my head to think about it," he said with a wry tone. The colorful display draws delighted children and adults alike; hundreds of cars will pass by from dusk until around midnight, when Pourteau turns off the lights.

If dazzling holiday light displays are one of your favorite things about this time of year, then we have good news.

The Courier Journal is starting a holiday tradition − an annual holiday lights map that will guide you to the biggest and brightest light displays in the Louisville area.

The map will include our annual public light displays, but we want to take it a step further with your help. We also want to feature your decked-out homes and businesses.

We know some of you go all out lighting up your home or business for the holidays. Every year you win that "unspoken" competition between you and the neighbors. Some of you even hire professionals to light up the neighborhood and give the young − and young at heart − something to behold.

To put your house or business on the map, fill out the form below. The submission deadline is midnight Nov. 14. The Courier Journal holiday lights map will go live at courier-journal.com on Friday, Nov. 25, during Thanksgiving weekend. Light displays from across the region will be included.

If you have questions about the map, please contact Gege Reed at greed1@gannett.com or 502-582-4664.
