The Umbrella Academy is back! Season 1 of the Netflix series saw the family escape the apocalypse that Vanya started, but it turns out that Five's time jump has scattered the siblings in and around Dallas over a three year period in the early 1960s.
As you can expect, a large part of the season follows the siblings as they try to reconnect with each other, and Five flashes back and forth in order to find them, while also trying to stay ahead of The Commission and The Handler. In addition, there are a number of flashbacks as we catch up with the family as we see how they've been living their separate lives in Dallas.
Season 2 mostly takes place in 1963, but there are also some time jumps that can be hard to keep track of. But not to worry, as we compiled this handy chronological list of all of the different years season 2 of Umbrella Academy travels to.
Klaus and Ben land in Dallas, where he meets a wealthy older woman after being kicked out of a restaurant. With Ben's help, Klaus becomes a cult leader—although he would argue that it's really a spiritual community.
Allison lands in Dallas, and she finds a safe haven in a salon after being chased by a racist group of men. She later meets her husband, an activist named Raymond Chestnut, in the salon during a civil rights meeting.
Klaus grows his cult, and he travels to India and San Francisco before returning to Dallas with Ben to see his previous time-traveling love, Dave, (think back to Season 1!) before he enlists in the army.
Luther lands in Dallas, and he begins working for Jack Ruby as his bodyguard and fighter.
In a separate scene that takes place this year, Reginald Hargreeves and Grace (who would eventually become the model for the robot mother who raises the kids) conduct experiments on Pogo, a chimpanzee that they import to their lab.
September 1, 1963
Diego lands in Dallas and is committed to a mental hospital after he tells people that President Kennedy will be assassinated in the future.
October 1, 1963
Vanya lands in Dallas, and is hit by a car driven by a woman named Sissy. She later goes to live with Sissy, her husband Carl, and their son Harlan on their farm outside of Dallas.
This when the bulk of the action takes place, and we see the siblings meet back up while also managing their personal lives—Allison and Ray stage a sit-in and she comes clean to him about her powers, Luther continues to work for Jack Ruby, Diego and Lila become romantically involved and he's forced to start working for The Commission, Klaus and Ben manage his cult, and Vanya and Sissy fall in love.
November 22, 1963
President Kennedy is killed, but the siblings prevent Vanya from causing the apocalypse (again). Five meets and then sends his older self to 2019, and it's later revealed that the sibling's father is actually an extra terrestrial.
November 25, 1963
Number Five lands in Dallas, and he witnesses another apocalypse. He also sees his siblings try—and fail—to stop it. He's intercepted by an older version of Hazel, who gives him a briefcase to go back in time (and then is shot dead. RIP Haze.l).
Number Five kills Lila's parents in London, and The Handler takes Lila and raises her as her own because of her special powers.
Number Five travels to Wisconsin to kill the members of the Commission's board. In exchange, he's given a briefcase to travel back to 2019 with his siblings, but he only has 90 minutes to get them all together.
We finally see Ben's funeral, and it's revealed that he's been walking the Earth with Klaus because he convinced him not to go.
April 2, 2019
The gang finally lands back in the present-day, and it's confirmed that they prevented the 2019 apocalypse that took place in season one. However, the timeline is not what it was before: The Umbrella Academy is now named The Sparrow Academy, their dad doesn't know who they are, and Ben is alive (and in front of a series of several other silhouetted figures; we have to assume they all have powers too).
