Ever wondered what goes into a royal wedding cake? Besides months of planning and a very steady hand, it turns out that plenty of ingredients are involved.

Kensington Palace has released photos of royal wedding cake baker Claire Ptak and head baker Izaak Adams as they put the finishing touches on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s cake.

The palace also gave a breakdown of the ingredients list:

In March it was announced that pastry chef Ptak, owner of the fashionable Violet Bakery in East London, would be taking on the coveted baking role.

It was revealed that she would be creating a sponge inspired by “the bright flavors of spring.”

Rather than a traditional fruit cake, the couple have selected a lemon and elderflower number covered with buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers for their upcoming nuptials.

I can’t tell you how delighted I am to be chosen to make Prince Harry and Ms. Markle’s wedding cake,” Ptak said in March.

“Knowing that they really share the same values as I do about food provenance, sustainability, seasonality, and, most importantly, flavor, makes this the most exciting event to be a part of.”

For Kate Middleton and Prince William‘s wedding in 2011, Fiona Cairn baked an eight-tier cake that featured up to 900 delicate sugar-paste flowers.

After the wedding, the duke and duchess decided to have the cake cut into more than 600 slices given at breakfast, while another 4,000 slices were sent out as gifts to the public.

It’s not yet known if Prince Harry and Markle will make a similar gesture, but we’ll soon find out.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to say “I do” on Saturday, May 19, at Windsor Castle. Yahoo will cover the historic event live from London from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. BST (5 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET). Bookmark this link to follow along LIVE.
