Yellowstone fans might be disappointed that the Western drama is taking a mid-season break, but the Dutton family won't be missing from our screens for long!
The new prequel series, 1923, is back this February after a brief hiatus following the holidays. And, there's so much to look forward to in upcoming episodes! If you remember how the first half of season one ended, you'll recall that Harrison Ford as Jacob Dutton and Helen Mirren as his wife Cara Dutton were left fighting for their land (and their lives). 😱
The action-packed series, which follows a whole new generation of Duttons, is just another one of Taylor Sheridan's wildly popular shows. After meeting the cast of 1923 in the first half of the season, it's easy to see why so many people are hooked. But how will season one of 1923 end? You'll have to tune in to find out!

When can you watch '1923'?
It's official! 1923 will return on Sunday, February 5, exclusively on Paramount+.
The first episode premiered on December 18 and ran for four episodes before taking a short break. Now season 1 is back with four more episodes starting February 5.
Is there a trailer for '1923'?
Yes! And, talk about a trailer! It might be short but it's still more than enough to keep us on our toes.
The mid-season trailer shows that it'll take more than a shoot-out to keep Jacob Dutton from his ranch. We see Jacob and his wife, Cara, will be returning for the new episodes of 1923, and it's clear they're out for revenge. "My concern is survival," Jacob says in the trailer.
Meanwhile, Cara's nephew Spencer Dutton makes his way to America on a journey that looks anything but easy.
Who will star in the cast of '1923'?
Paramount+ announced that legendary actors Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren will join the Yellowstone universe in the cast of 1923. Ford will play Jacob Dutton, the patriarch of the Yellowstone ranch and great-great-grand-uncle of John Dutton. Mirren will play Cara Dutton, wife to Jacob Dutton.
The rest of the cast includes Timothy Dalton, Sebastian Roché, Brandon Sklenar, Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, and more.
What is '1923' about?
1923 carries on the story of the Dutton family that we met in the initial prequel, 1883. When we first heard of the series, we were told that it "will follow a new generation of Duttons during the time of western expansion, Prohibition, and the Great Depression."
But in a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren gave us more insight as to what we can expect.
"He's the silverback," Ford told Vanity Fair about his character, Jacob Dutton.
But when speaking on Jacob's relationship with Cara (Mirren), he made it clear that it was strong. "He's responsible for that branch of the family. These are two people with a very strong bond to each other who are facing really complicated circumstances."
Mirren gave even more insight on Cara—and it seems like she had some creative control herself.
"I see Cara as an immigrant,” Mirren told Vanity fair. “One of the things I very strongly wanted was that she would speak with an Irish accent, not with an American accent. It’s always slightly annoyed me with Westerns that you have all these people speaking with modern American accents when in fact so many of them were fairly recent immigrants.
"The big Irish immigration to America, because of the potato famine, was in the late 19th century. That absolutely chronologically works for Cara. She’s now in her late 60s, we imagine. So she would’ve come, I think, as a young woman from Ireland. I think that’s one of the extraordinary elements of America. The people who arrived, and are still arriving, are people with enormous resilience and enormous courage and independence."
The show will be produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, which are the same production companies that brought us Yellowstone and 1883.
Who is Jacob Dutton to James Dutton?
This might get a little confusing, so hold on tight. Jacob Dutton, one of 1923's protagonists, is the brother of James Dutton. We met James back in 1883 (and you might remember how that ended). And if we want to go into detail, this makes Jacob the great-great-grand-uncle of John Dutton III.
While it seems like Jacob Dutton is set to return in new episodes of 1923, the fate of the family is still unknown. We'll be sure to update you on any more news we receive!
