  • Meghan Markle turns 38 on Sunday, August 4.

  • Royal reporter Omid Scobie revealed how she, Prince Harry, and baby Archie will celebrate.

Meghan Markle has had legit the best year ever. First she gave birth to baby Archie, then she met Beyoncé at The Lion King premiere, then she edited an entire issue of British Vogue—the September issue, no less! She’s accomplished a lot! And with her birthday right around the corner, one might guess that she’ll throw a huge rager to celebrate, but one would be totally incorrect. At least, that is, if you trust what royal reporter Omid Scobie revealed about Meghan’s birthday plans.

In Katie Couric’s newsletter, Scobie gave some insight about Meghan’s 38th and said Prince Harry will be flying back from his controversial Italian work trip to spend it with her. He added:

“Prince Harry will be back from Google Camp in Sicily, where he gave a speech about the fight against climate change, so they’ll be spending Meghan’s birthday quietly as a family. The Sussexes have been so busy this year that I can imagine her birthday will simply involve a well-deserved day of rest with a few friends—and, of course, precious moments with Archie.”

Tonight, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the first of a two game series of the Major League Baseball #LondonSeries, in support of @WeAreInvictusGames. Tonight’s highly anticipated game between the #Yankees and #RedSox took place at London stadium, Olympic Park. The @WeAreInvictusGames, of which His Royal Highness is Founding Patron, has been selected as charity partner for the @MLB 2019 series. The Invictus Games Foundation is the international charity that oversees the development of the Invictus Games, an international adaptive multi-sport event in which wounded, injured or sick armed service personnel and veterans participate. It celebrates the power of sport in recovery and how it can help, physically or psychologically, those suffering from injuries or illness. The word ‘invictus’ means ‘unconquered’ - it embodies the fighting spirit of the competitors. As part of the partnership, the Invictus Games Foundation have a team participating in London’s #Softball60, the social softball series built for the city and targeted to introduce the sport to new audiences and demonstrate that it is an inclusive sport. On this #ArmedForcesDay, tonight’s event was also a chance for Their Royal Highnesses to shine a light on the men and women here in the UK and around the world who have sacrificed so much for their country. Last year, Meghan spent her birthday at a wedding for one of Harry’s friends, and in previous years, she celebrated by revealing some skin and her biggest goals for the year on her lifestyle blog, The Tig. In a 2014 post called “Birthday Suit,” she shared her birthday wish, which is for all of us to be better versions of ourselves. She wrote:

“So for my birthday, here’s what I would like as a gift: I want you to be kind to yourself. I want you to challenge yourself. I want you to stop gossiping, to try a food that scares you, to buy a coffee for someone just because, to tell someone you love them…and then to tell yourself right back. I want you to find your happiness.”

Fingers crossed she writes another blog entry for her new royal Insta account!
