Is there a trailer for The Umbrella Academy season 2?

The wait is almost over until our favorite superheroes come back and now fans get their first look at all the crazy action that is taking place in the latest season of The Umbrella Academy. Following the second limited series of comics, Dallas, the show will follow the gang as they have to find a way to stop another apocalypse that is mysteriously linked to President Kennedy's assassination. On top of that, the Commission is back hunting them, Dr. Hargreeves is still alive in the past, Ben might not be a ghost anymore, and Klaus started a cult. Check out all the craziness in the trailer below:

Are there any photos from season 2?

While there's still a little more than a month left until we finally get to find out what happened to the Hargreeves as they went back in time, Netflix just dropped some season two photos that confirm that the siblings will be in the 1960s for a lot longer than we originally thought.

According to Netflix, "Five warned his family (so, so many times) that using his powers to escape from Vanya’s 2019 apocalypse was risky. Well, he was right - the time jump scatters the siblings in time in and around Dallas, Texas. Over a three year period. Starting in 1960. Some, having been stuck in the past for years, have built lives and moved on, certain they’re the only ones who survived. Five is the last to land, smack dab in the middle of a nuclear doomsday, which - spoiler alert! - turns out is a result of the group’s disruption of the timeline (déjà vu, anyone?). Now the Umbrella Academy must find a way to reunite, figure out what caused doomsday, put a stop to it, and return to the present timeline to stop that other apocalypse. All while being hunted by a trio of ruthless Swedish assassins. But seriously, no pressure or anything."

Will they be able to make it back to present? Or will they be stuck in the wrong timeline forever? Guess we'll have to wait until July 31 to find out!

When can we expect season 2 to drop?

Netflix finally released a season two teaser and you definitely don't want to miss it! While recreating the iconic "I Think We're Alone Now" dance scene from season one, the cast revealed that the show will be coming back on July 31. Check it out below!

Has the cast started filming season 2?

Back in June, Netflix shared a photo of the cast back together on set. While the photo didn't give anything away on what they might be doing, it's pretty interesting that Ellen Page, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin Min were missing.

Fans don't have too much to worry about — Netflix has confirmed that they will all be back for the show's second season. Aidan even posted a fun little clip confirming that he was in Toronto for filming.

Justin Min also posted a photo with Ellen Page in NYC.

And if you follow Page on Instagram, than you've been getting a ton of cute BTS moments as they work their way through production. In December, she posted the cutest holiday card pic you've ever seen...

Aren't these just the best siblings around?!

Will there be more seasons after this one?

Good news Umbrella Academy fans, there's a good chance that we'll be seeing much more from our favorite family of superheroes thanks to a new announcement by comic book series creator Gerard Way.

The latest volume of The Umbrella Academy comic book series, Hotel Oblivion, has been released 10 years after the release of volume two, Dallas. While there were several delays in volume three being released, Gerard announced that him and co-created Gabriel Bá are hard at work on volume four.

"Coincidentally, I just started Volume 4, so hopefully it won’t be too long before a new issue hits the stands, seeing as how this volume ends on a major cliffhanger," Gerard wrote on his Instagram.

More volumes means more seasons, so hopefully the show continues to do well so we can see them back on our screens again!

Are there any new characters joining the show?

Get ready cause Netflix just announced that there will be 3 new characters joining the show and it looks like they're going to be shaking things up in season 2, according to Netflix.

Ritu Arya is joining the cast as Lila, "a chameleon who can be as brilliant or as clinically insane as the situation requires. Unpredictable, mischievous and sarcastic, Lila’s gifted with a twisted sense of humor."

Yusuf Gatewood is Raymond, "a born leader with the smarts, gravitas, and the confidence to never have to prove it to anyone. He is warm, dedicated and has the innate ability to disarm you with a look. A devoted husband, he's the kind of guy everyone wants to know."

Marin Ireland is playing Sissy, "a fearless, no-nonsense Texas mom who married young for all the wrong reasons. Still in her prime, she’s eager to rediscover what life and love has to offer."

Will Ben have a bigger role in season 2?

With the group going back in time, many fans are wondering if this means that Ben will finally get to be part of the team instead of just being attached to Klaus the entire time.

"What’s funny is there were a few scenes like especially like in episode two where we actually got to play with him," Daniel Castañeda told The Cheat Sheet. "Obviously there were parts where he didn’t have to be in the shot. And so we had to act as if he never existed. So there were moments that we had to ignore his line or something that he had to say."

It seems like Ben will get a lot more screen time this season, although, it hasn't been confirmed if he is alive again or whether he'll interact with the rest of The Umbrella Academy.

"But you know I’m really happy the fact that [Min] who plays number six, Ben," Daniel said. "He’s kind of getting a larger role now and we’ll get to see his storyline and see what happens to Ben and hopefully maybe he can come back from the dead. I don’t know. We’ll see."

Is anyone leaving the show?

Although the show has not been renewed for a second season, there's one actor who is causing a major freak out with his recent tweets. Aiden Gallagher, who plays Five, tweeted out, "Thank you for the role of a lifetime! I will always look back and say wow that was the coolest role I ever played!"

Fans started to believe that show has been cancelled or that Aidan will not be returning to the show if it does get picked up. Despite fans asking for answers, Aidan still hasn't clarified his tweet.

"I stand by my tweet: 'I will always look back and say wow that was the coolest role I ever played' - Aidan Gallagher. How is that not clear enough for everyone?," he wrote.

It's likely that he is just showing gratitude for the role and not actually leaving the show or confirming a cancellation. It's probably safe to take this with a grain of salt until official news comes out.

What are the actors saying about season 2?

While the fans are still waiting for any news about a renewal, the actors are already sharing their hopes for the second season.

"I wish! Call up Netflix," said Emmy Raver-Lampman who plays Alison at MCM Comic Con.

While this might seem like a bad sign for fans who are still waiting on news for season 2, Emma reassures them that there might not be anything to worry about after all.

"I definitely am shocked," she said. "We have no idea because Netflix holds all their numbers really close. But they are very excited."

"It's great to see the response from the fans, because that's a telling sign," said Tom Hopper, who plays Luther. "Until I turned up here today [at MCM Comic Con Birmingham] you get an idea that the show's doing well with a bit of online chat, and people call you up and say, 'watched the show man, it's great'. But it's great to see the response from the people and see how excited they are about it."

David Castañeda also opened up to The Hollywood Reporter about what he hopes will happen to Diego if the show comes back.

"If there was a season two, I would say that one of the best things about the show is the fact of how the characters arc. And it takes time to see people grow of the traumas that they have. So i’d like to see where Diego goes in terms of okay, obviously he’s able to cope with a lot more things. But now he lost his mom, he lost Patch." he said. "So there is a sense of either Diego can go completely just insane off of it or he might just be a kid. Cause if you see in the last episode, they turn into kids and then they disappear. So I don’t know, maybe I have a job, maybe I don’t."

Are the older actors not coming back?

The finale left a lot of unanswered questions, mostly about whether or not we'll be seeing the older actors again. Chances are the group will return in their correct time zone or there will be a flashback (or flashforward) to show what happened after they decided to go back in time. Did they really save Vanya or will it still play out the same? Those questions will likely be answered in season 2.

What will season 2 be about?

The show follows the original comic book series and there's already a part two and three out. When it returns, The Umbrella Academy will likely be following the "Dallas" storyline, the second in the series.

According to IndieWire, the comic book series already has a fourth series on the way, so fans can certainly expect it to go at least four seasons if the show continues to do well.

Is there anything else I can read/watch in the meantime?
