Here's everything you need to know before you go to the second weekend of Prize Fest
The first weekend of Prize Fest is over, and now it's time for the second and final weekend. The final Prizes to celebrate are Food, Comedy and the flagship event, Film.
Screenings for Film Prize will begin Thursday, Oct. 19 and run until Saturday, Oct. 21. The winner will be announced Sunday, Oct. 22. Food Prize will take place Friday, Oct. 20, and Comedy Prize will happen Saturday, Oct. 21.
The competitors in Film and Comedy come from across the United States, while all the Food Prize chefs are from right here in the SBC. These events are about more than the cash prizes; they are an opportunity to network with professionals in their respective fields and further their careers.

Food Prize
Friday, Oct. 20
6 p.m.
Remington Garage - 211 Market St., Shreveport
Six local chefs will be creating dishes at the annual "Come and Get It!" event to compete for the audience award and the $2,500 cash grand prize. There also will be a special award going to the best cocktail of the night.

Back for its second year, Comedy Prize takes seven standup comedians from across the U.S. to win over the panel of celebrity judges with their best jokes for the $2,500 cash prize.

The Prize that started it all in 2012 will feature 20 films shot in Louisiana from filmmakers all over the U.S. A panel of judges will determine which filmmaker will take home the $50,000 grand prize.
Ten films are a part of the "teal slate" and the other 10 are part of the "orange slate" for screenings. There will be screening schedules for each theatre, with the groups separated into different time slots.
