Here's everything you need to know before you go to Music and Fashion Prizes in Shreveport

It's almost time for the first weekend of the annual Prize Fest in Shreveport. First up to bat is the Music Prize, which will take place over two nights, and the Fashion Prize, which follows the next morning with a brunch.

The competitors in both categories are from all over the U.S. and aren't only competing for cash prizes but are able to use this event as a networking event to further their careers and get their names out there.

Music Prize

Friday, Oct. 13 - Saturday, Oct. 14

6 - 11 p.m.

The Remington Garage - 211 Market St., Shreveport.

Each night, six musicians will perform live for the audience and a panel of judges for a chance to win the $10,000 grand prize.

Night One - Friday, Oct. 13:

  • Reggae Force - Classic roots Reggae with a contemporary edge

  • Stone & Snow - Folk / Soul duo

  • LVVRS - Blend of Disco Pop and 1970s Rock-N-Roll flair

  • Octavia the Great and GG - Melodic Rap

  • Dexter Duran and the Port City Sound - Contemporary 90s

  • Deadsled Funeral Company - Horror Rock

Night Two - Saturday, Oct. 14:

  • Mr. Taylormade and the Taylormade Band - Funk, Soul, R&B with Rock and Blues

  • Jesse Rawlinson - Soul / Country

  • Scott Strickland - Soul / Alternative

  • The Christopher Brothers - Alternative Pop-Rock

  • Wild Ire - Fusion of Pop Rock and Progressive

  • Niki J. Crawford - Sou-Funk with R&B

  • Vip Admission (Both Nights)

    • $150

    • Includes access to the VIP lounge, complimentary food and beverages including beer and wine, a dedicated seating area inside the music venue.

Saturday, Oct. 14

11 p.m. - 2 a.m.

Stray Cat Bar - 222 Travis St., Shreveport

Celebrate weekend one of Prize Fest with a party at Stray Cat in downtown Shreveport. There will be drink specials, music and camaraderie late into the night.

The party starts immediately after the Music Prize winner is announced.

Fashion Prize

Sunday, Oct. 15

11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Phoenix 2.0 - 400 Commerce St., Shreveport

Five designers will present their collections on the runway to the audience and a panel of judges who will decide which designer will take home the $2,500 grand prize.

  • Marwan Pleasant - MARLENCE

  • Frank Robertson - H.I.M. Studios

  • Samantha Viti - VITI
