Here’s Everything You Should Know About Maci’s Supercute Fam From ‘Teen Mom OG’

After a decade of experiencing all the most intimate moments of her life with a camera crew in her face, Teen Mom OG’s Maci Bookout is starting to get a little irritated. The Southern girl has made it through some pretty wild moments on MTV, but she wishes that they’d focus more on her cute family than the drama between her and a certain irrelevant someone. (Cough, cough...Bentley’s dad, Ryan.)

Maci recently tweeted that she feels her true story is not portrayed accurately on the show. As a viewer, it’s tricky, because baby-daddy drama is television gold, but her concern is totally understandable.

Seeing as Maci wishes her kids and relationship were front and center on Teen Mom OG, here’s everything you should know about them.

Her relationship with Ryan was rocky from the very beginning, so this isn’t really news.

Maci starred in the very first episode of 16 and Pregnant in 2009, which means she is technically the most OG of the OGs. She actually starts the episode engaged to Ryan Edwards and pregnant with their son, Bentley. Side note: Maci was capable of serving us some piping-hot tea all by herself long before Ryan took over her story line. There’s a moment when Maci reveals that she told her own mom she was pregnant BY TEXT-an absolutely nerve-shredding move before the days of read receipts.

By the end, Maci seriously questioned her relationship with Ryan but finishes by saying, “Maybe this summer we’ll have our beach wedding that we want-and maybe not.” Spoiler: They did not.

It took Maci a while to find her dream guy.

After her breakup with Ryan in 2010 (they were fully split by Teen Mom season 2), Maci dated her childhood friend Kyle King. They even bought a house together! However, after three beautiful seasons together, Maci announced the pair had split in the season 4 reunion special. She accused Kyle of cheating.

Then, Maci started dating her now-hubby Taylor McKinney in 2012. Two years later, the motorcycle racer moved from Dallas to Tennessee so that the couple could move things from LDR to just plain ole R. The pair made their onscreen debut in season 5 of Teen Mom (aka the first season of Teen Mom OG) and tied the knot in 2016.

She’s taking legal action to distance herself from Ryan.

The McKinneys have submitted petitions for order of protection in court against Ryan after alleged threats of violence. Yikes. Ryan’s most recent arrest is under the spotlight in the current Team Mom OG season, even after he and his wife, Mackenzie Standifer, said they were done with the franchise last year.

Her family might still be growing.

In addition to 10-year-old Bentley, Maci has two kids with Taylor: Jayde, 4, and Maverick, 3. They’re pretty much the cutest family ever. I mean, just look at them all supporting Bentley at his baseball game.

In one of her books, I Wasn’t Born Bulletproof (yep, she has two), she reveals that her third child’s conception was very maverick indeed. “We never planned on my getting pregnant again so soon after [Jayde] was born. Maverick was totally unexpected. When I found out I was pregnant, Jayde was still a baby.”

The couple has said that they are currently done having biological kids but are totally up for adopting in the future. Given how adorable the current fam is, we can’t wait. Hopefully, we see lots more of them this season!
