  • The new dance competition series The Masked Dancer is a spin-off of the super popular singing competition series The Masked Singer.

  • The Office star Craig Robinson will be hosting the show, and the panelists will be Ken Jeong, Paula Abdul, Brian Austin Green, and Ashley Tisdale.

The Masked Singer has a spin-off! The new dance competition series The Masked Dancer is coming soon to your TV, and it promises bigger names, shocking surprises, and of course, insane dance moves!

What can I expect from the show?

Ten masked celebrities will shake their tail feathers (literally, in one case!) before a panel of famous judges. After each performance, the panelists will have to guess which star is hiding behind the elaborate costume.

Since we won't be able to hear the contestants' voices like we can on The Masked Singer, the spin-off will feature more extensive clues in the costumes, choreography, and set design to point panelists and fans in the right direction. There will also be a new segment of the show called "Word Up," in which the celebrities get to say a single word in their unmodulated voices to clue panelists in on their identities.

Who's in the cast?

The Office star Craig Robinson will be hosting the show, and the panelists will be Ken Jeong, Paula Abdul, Brian Austin Green, and Ashley Tisdale. There will also be weekly guest panelists on the show, including The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik.

Ken and Brian are no strangers to the Masked world. The comedian is currently a panelist on The Masked Singer and the former Beverly Hills, 90210 star was a contestant (Remember the Giraffe?) on Season 4 of the show.

As for the Masked Dancer contestants, well, you'll have to watch and see! But Paula told Insider that both dancers and non-dancers will be competing.

Whose idea was this?

Believe it or not, the idea for the show came from a spoof of The Masked Singer that Ellen DeGeneres did on her talk show, The Ellen Show. Now, Ellen is an executive producer on the real The Masked Dancer, according to Insider. Well played, Ellen!

Tell me about the costumes!

Like The Masked Singer, The Masked Dancer will feature elaborate face masks and costumes to disguise the contestants. All 10 costumes have been revealed, and they look incredible! They include Cotton Candy, Cricket, Exotic Bird, Sloth, Tulip, Zebra, Disco Ball, Ice Cube, Miss Moth, and Hammerhead.

Okay, so when and where can I watch the show?

The Masked Dancer will premiere on Fox on Sunday, December 27 at 8 p.m. ET—just in time for a little post-Christmas lounging on the couch! We can't wait to watch, guess, and chant "TAKE IT OFF!" before the contestants are finally unmasked.
