From Seventeen

Netflix's newest teen drama is officially here and it's definitely one that's going to keep you hooked. The Society is about a group of teens who are mysteriously transported into another version of their town, one without any trace of their parents. So, the teens have to figure out how to survive on their own, and well that leads to a whole lot of drama. If the plot sounds familiar, it's because you were paying attention in English class. The Society, which is now streaming on Netflix, is like a remix of the classic novel, Lord of the Flies. Without adults, the teens have to figure out how to govern themselves and survive and if you read the book, you know that's a lot harder than it sounds. Here's everything you need to know about the cast of The Society.

Kathryn Newton as Allie

Allie is a shy girl who's lived her life in the shadow of her sister, Cassandra. She has little sense of what her own strengths are. Kathryn spoke a little bit about her character to Refinery29 saying, "My character [Allie] is such a reluctant reader and she has to make choices that no one should ever have to make, ever. I don’t ever want that responsibility. I’m not like Allie at all.”

You might recognize Kathryn from her role as Abigail on Big Little Lies and Claire Novak on Supernatural. She also plays an ambitious reporter in the recently released Pokémon: Detective Pikachu.

Cassandra is Allie's older sister. She's a natural leader, who, after being inspired by her sister Allie, takes charge of the group once they find themselves alone. Cassandra is a popular girl, but she also has a longtime rival named Harry.

You might know Rachel Keller for her role as Syd Barett on the TV show, Legion. She's also had parts in other TV shows like Fargo, Supernatural and The Mentalist.

Alex Fitzalan as Harry

Harry's a privileged, handsome guy who becomes leader of a group of teens who want to see things done their way. We can only assume this means he'll be clashing with Cassandra, his rival.

Tom's previous parts include a supporting role in the movie Slender Man, in which Joey King starred.

Gideon Adlon as Becca

Becca is a tough girl, who always has a camera in her hand. She's tough and adventurous, as she has had to deal with the strain of having a single mother, who's also an alcoholic. Becca's storyline ends on an interesting note in the season finale.

You might have caught Gideon in her roles as Sam in Blockers and Martha in The Mustang. She's also had smaller roles in series like Girl Meets World and Criminal Minds. Gideon is the oldest daughter of actress and writer, Pamela Adlon.

Jacques was originally in an unreleased pilot of Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, but he was ultimately recast. Though you don't see him in the film, Jacques voices Sporko in the film Ugly Dolls.

Olivia Dejonge as Elle

Elle is also one of the social outcasts in The Society. She's a dancer who's often full of fear and uncertainty. Her vulnerability might make her prone to being taken advantage of, but it's up to Elle to find herself in this new world she's living in.

Olivia is an Australian actress who's known for her roles as Tara Swift/Shaneen Quigg in the Austrailian TV series, Hiding, and Becca in the movie, The Visit.
