Here's Everything You Need to Know About Bettergoods, Walmart's New Store Brand

With more than 4,000 stores in nearly all 50 states, Walmart has become a one-stop shop for millions of Americans to buy groceries, clothes, home products, and more. Besides offering countless brands that Americans are used to seeing in stores, Walmart also has many other brands of its own.

On April 30, Walmart announced the debut of a new store brand, and it's set to fill a void among the conglomerate's offerings.

What is Walmart's new store brand called?

The new brand is called Bettergoods. In a statement, the company called the label "a new elevated experience that delivers quality, unique, chef-inspired food at an incredible value."

Bettergoods joins other store brands sold by Walmart like Great Value and Equate.

How does Bettergoods differ from other Walmart store brands?

While Walmart has offered store brand food items with Great Value, Bettergoods is entirely dedicated to food products. The company says the line will deliver "a brand-new, fresh take on the culinary experience with elevated taste, flavor, and variety that’s approachable and—most importantly—affordable."

How much will Bettergoods items cost?

According to Walmart, Bettergoods items will range from less than $2 to under $15. Most Bettergoods products will be available for under $5.

What Bettergoods items will Walmart sell?

You can find Bettergoods items in the grocery section at Walmart. There are 300 items to choose from, including frozen food, dairy, snacks, beverages, pasta, soups, coffee, chocolate, and more.

Will Bettergoods have vegan food and other dietary options?

Besides its regular culinary offerings, Bettergoods will also have options for consumers with alternative diets. This includes plant-based products like oat milk for $3.44 a pint and plant-based cheese for under $4.

Bettergoods also has a "Made Without" label for products that don't contain troublesome ingredients or allergens. Check here for things like dairy creamer made with only four ingredients or gluten-free and antibiotic-free chicken nuggets.

When will Walmart stores begin rolling out Bettergoods products?

Walmart says customers can start shopping Bettergood products now in stores and online. The full line will "continu[e] to roll out over the coming months."

What has Walmart said about the new Bettergoods line?

Scott Morris, Walmart's senior vice president of private brands, food, and consumables, expressed his excitement about the move in a statement.

“Today’s customers expect more from the private brands they purchase – they want affordable, quality products to elevate their overall food experience. The launch of Bettergoods delivers on that customer need in a meaningful way,” Morris said. "Bettergoods is more than just a new private brand. It’s a commitment to our customers that they can enjoy unique culinary flavors at the incredible value Walmart delivers."
