The most wild, shocking depiction of high schoolers is almost back, and its easily one of the most anticipated shows of the year. The first season of HBO's Euphoria ended back in 2019, and since then fans have been desperate for more from Rue (Zendaya, also of Spider-Man and Dune fame), and Jules (Hunter Schafer) along with their troubled peers, like MH January cover star Jacob Elordi's villainous Nate.

In the interim, HBO held us over with two special episodes on Rue and Jules (both streaming on HBO Max), standalone episodes offering slightly more depth to their characters and a brief idea of what went on after the season 1 finale.

For a quick recap, the final episode of Euphoria season 1 took place during prom night, and left us with climatic conclusions for various major relationships in the show. Maddie left Nate's house, annoyed they couldn't have sex, and as she departs, she takes his father's video tape. Cassie goes through with an abortion and vows never to fall in love, at least for the time being. Kat apologizes for ignoring Ethan and the two decide to date instead of acting out because of their teenage feelings. After a police raid on his house, Fez violently robs a drug supplier to pay his dealer.

Rue and Jules have an equally intense evening as the rest of their peers. A newly sober Rue kisses Jules and proposes they run away. Jules agrees, and they dash off to the train station. At the last moment though, Rue chickens out and decides to go back to her sister and mother. And then there's an unforgettable dance sequence—likely signifying a relapse—as Rue returns home, accompanied by a Labrinth and Zendaya song.

Now that we're all caught up, here's when new episodes of Euphoria are set to premiere.
