Here's The Easiest Way to Send Driving Directions to Your Phone

It's surprisingly simple but it will save you tons of data and battery life.

From Woman's Day

There's no denying the convenience of using a GPS-enabled smartphone on the road, but the constant navigation can eat away at data and drain your phone's battery. So, what's a gal to do?

This simple trick might sound antiquated, but stay with us: Before you head out, look up driving directions on your computer, then send them to your phone.

Tech journalist John Patrick Pullen recently tried this method with all of the major mapping services, and wrote about it for TIME. The results surprised even him. MapQuest (remember that site?) beat out Google Maps, Apple Maps and Windows/Bing Maps as the most user friendly navigation tool.

"MapQuest is, by far, the easiest way to get maps from your desktop to your phone," Pullen wrote. Once you've plugged in a starting point and destination, and selected a route, a button on the right-hand side allows you to send those directions to a cell phone or email address, or share via Facebook or Twitter.
