Here's What The Cast of 'Scrubs' is Doing Now

Scrubs might have ended nearly 15 years ago, but it's still hard not to miss the show, especially the stellar cast. The sitcom first aired on NBC in October 2001, and amid a slew of serious medical dramas, it was a breath of fresh air. Stars like Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, and Judy Reyes (among many others) delivered laugh after laugh each week it aired, telling the story of a group of medical students and their teachers working (or just making it through the day) in Sacred Heart Hospital.

Although some of the humor is obviously dated at this point, Scrubs is still an easy rewatch, full of ridiculous situations and hilarious one-liners. The stars had great chemistry on screen, and most are still close in real life today. And while they may not be wearing scrubs to work each day anymore, the Scrubs cast are all still doing big things. You may miss seeing them together, but you can still watch them in their other endeavors. Here's a look at where the Scrubs cast is today.

Zach Braff (John "J.D." Dorian)

Playing J.D. on Scrubs was Zach Braff's breakout role, and it got him nominated for an Emmy and a few Golden Globes. He is also most well-known for directing, producing, and starring in the film Garden State. Braff did some directing and writing while acting on Scrubs, and when the series ended in 2010, he continued to act, direct, write, and produce. In 2014, he released the film Wish I Were Here, and in 2020 he directed the film In The Time It Takes To Get There.

In March 2020, Braff and co-star Donald Faison launched a Scrubs rewatch podcast called Fake Doctors, Real Friends. In 2022, he made headlines when his relationship with Florence Pugh ended. Most recently, he wrote, directed, and produced the film A Good Person, which was released in March 2023 and stars Pugh and Morgan Freeman.

Donald Faison (Chris Turk)

Donald Faison was a popular actor in the '90s, with roles in films like Clueless and Remember The Titans and TV shows like Felicity, Sister Sister, and Sabrina The Teenage Witch. His role as Chris Turk on Scrubs was one of his most well-known.

While Faison has continued to act since the show ended in 2010, he hasn't done anything quite as big. He appeared in the film Pitch Perfect, and he also voiced pilot Hype Fazon in Star Wars Resistance, a role that was written for him, up until 2020. He does the Fake Doctors, Real Friends podcast with Braff, and his web series Alabama Jackson, found on Adult Swim's Youtube channel, premiered in 2022. Faison stars as the main character and created the show. He has been married to CaCee Cobb since 2012 and has six children.

Sarah Chalke (Elliot Reid)

Sarah Chalke might be most known for her role as Elliot on Scrubs, but she has starred in a slew of other popular TV shows as well, like a role in Roseanne before she was on Scrubs. After Scrubs ended, Chalke appeared in the show Cougar Town multiple times and made an appearance on Grey's Anatomy.

She had a role in the Roseanne revival show, and is the voice of Beth on Rick and Morty. She currently co-stars with Katharine Heigl in the Netflix show Firefly Lane. She has two children, a son and a daughter.

Judy Reyes (Carla Espinosa)

Judy Reyes is one of those celebrities that you've seen all over your television screen, in a variety of different films and TV shows, even before she took on the role of Carla in Scrubs. Before Scrubs, she had appeared in shows like The Sopranos, Law & Order, and NYPD Blue. She left Scrubs before the ninth season, so she wasn't there for the final season.

Since the show has ended, Reyes has continued to appear in multiple shows and films. In recent years, she has played characters in shows like Jane the Virgin, Black-ish, Batwoman, Succession, and Dirty John and in movies like Smile. In early 2023, it was announced that she would be starring in ABC's HPI remake alongside Kaitlin Olson and Daniel Sunjata. She has one daughter.

Neil Flynn (The Janitor)

You've seen Neil Flynn in a variety of different roles aside from his hilarious janitor role in Scrubs. He's been in Mean Girls, Rookie of the Year, The Fugitive, and Home Alone 3, aside from starring in the medical sitcom.

Before the ninth season of Scrubs, Flynn scored a starring role on ABC's The Middle, so he only guest-starred in the last season of Scrubs. He worked on The Middle until 2018, and since then has done some voice work. He has also appeared in shows like Lopez vs. Lopez and Clone High.

John C. McGinley (Dr. Perry Cox)

Playing Dr. Cox in Scrubs might have been one of John C. McGinley's biggest roles, but he was known for many others even before the show aired: like Office Space, Platoon, and Wall Street, to name just a few. Shortly after Scrubs ended, he got a recurring role on Burn Notice, and appeared in Broadway revival Glengarry Glenn Ross.

In recent years, McGinley has appeared in shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Chicago P.D., and DreamWorks Dragons: Rescue Riders. He also has two daughters and serves on the board of the Global Down Syndrome Foundation.

Ken Jenkins (Dr. Bob Kelso)

Having a role as Dr. Bob Kelso in Scrubs was only another addition to the long list of films and TV shows that Ken Jenkins has been in. Dr. Kelso might be his most recognizable role, but he's also been in shows like The X-Files, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Beverly Hills, 90210.

After Scrubs ended, Jenkins kept things more low-key. He had a recurring role in the show Cougar Town and appeared in a few episodes of Gravity Falls and A Series of Unfortunate Events. He doesn't appear to have any acting credits after 2018.

Christa Miller (Jordan Sullivan)

Her role as Jordan in Scrubs was a notable one for Christa Miller, but she could also be seen in shows like The Drew Carey Show, Seinfeld, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Miller is actually married to Scrubs creator, Bill Lawrence, and her role was supposed to be temporary but then turned into a recurring one.

After Scrubs, Miller starred in Cougar Town. Most recently, she has been in shows like Undateable, Head of the Class, Shrinking, and Clone High. She is still married to Lawrence and they have three children.

Sam Lloyd (Ted Buckland)

Sam Lloyd brought his own form of humor to Scrubs as the miserable yet hilarious Ted Buckland. Before the show, he had also appeared on shows like 3rd Rock From The Sun and Spin City.

After Scrubs, Lloyd was on Cougar Town, The Middle, and Modern Family, and made appearances on shows like Bones and Shameless. Unfortunately, Lloyd was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and mestastic lung cancer in 2019, and died in April 2020 at the age of 56. He is survived by his wife and son.

Aloma Wright (Laverne Roberts)

Before appearing on Scrubs, Aloma Wright had appeared in shows like Ally McBeal and Girlfriends, but playing Laverne was one of her most notable roles. Her character was killed off in season six, but she appeared as another character in two more seasons.

After Scrubs, Wright appeared as nurse Maxine Landis in the soap opera Days of Our Lives and also had a recurring role in Private Practice and Suits. She appeared in episodes of shows like Scandal. In 2020, she was cast as Viola in the Nickelodeon sitcom Young Dylan.

Eliza Coupe (Denise Mahoney)

Eliza Coupe didn't appear on Scrubs until the last two seasons, when she played Denise Mahoney, a role she quickly became known for.

However, Coupe's most well-known role was starring in Happy Endings. After the show ended, she had recurring roles on shows like House of Lies and Benched. In 2022, she had a role on the short-lived Pivoted and had guest roles in shows Reboot and So Help Me Todd.

Robert Maschio (Todd "The Todd" Quinlan)

Robert Maschio's role as "The Todd" in the show is easily his most well-known. While he did appear in shows like Cougar Town and Undateable after Scrubs, his acting career seemed to end in 2015. He now works as a realtor in Los Angeles.
